Goodness gracious
He’s closer to 180 now. His neck is almost as thick as his head. He’s been hitting the gym since turning pro and it showshockeydb has his weight listed as 147 lbs, there's no way that's correct right?
Thanks for your contribution.I think he has a good chance to become a first to get 1000 points in KHL
Exactly. Masterful reading of the playThis is such a perfect encapsulation of what he does well.
He capitalizes on the fact that the left-defenseman has to help out centrally and the right defenseman to defend his pass. The winger might be helping out also or isn't going to think he has to pick up Michkov coming around the net after his pass.
Plants himself on the weak side with his stick on the ice, and waits for a scramble to result in a loose puck right to him.
This is the smarts of a goal-scoring wizard.
Man that almost looks like a video game play where people would say "that could never happen in real life."Goodness gracious
I dont get why people are so defensive when Michkov is compared to Malkin. First of all, it was pro-Michkov crowd who claimed that he has the best U20 season ever, forgetting about Malkin in 2006. Second, who should we compare Michkov to? He is a natural prodigy. If your big example of Michkov not living up to the hype is to say he is marginally worse than an older Malkin in a different league then I don't know what you're going for. What would living up to the hype even mean at 19? Most teams would take the next Malkin number 1 in basically every NHL draft.
This season he is not ready anywayMan that almost looks like a video game play where people would say "that could never happen in real life."
A big part of me wishes that Michov was in the NHL and the Bedard/Michov dynasty would be in full swing.

Well then maybe they weren't getting the torch passed from Crosby/Ovi then. This season he is not ready anyway
Literally, you aren't wrong.Michkov could become a better version of Kuzmenko.
Its a nice play but thats hyperbole. Michkov's obviously an insane talent and I also can't wait to watch him play in the NHL, but not every nice goal of his is this untouchable mythical god level IQ playMan that almost looks like a video game play where people would say "that could never happen in real life."

Did I say otherwise? Its a nice play but thats hyperbole. Michkov's obviously an insane talent and I also can't wait to watch him play in the NHL, but not every nice goal of his is this untouchable mythical god level IQ play

That play was just plain sick and this is a great breakdown of it and the skill of Michov.
Could say the same about prime Kucherov, right?Malkin a the same age was able to take over the games and looked like a star player already, Michkov is an invisible opportunist. They are not close at all.
With three points today he can finish no worse than .85 PPG, which would be the highest D+1 KHL PPG ever.
