You say that but the vast majority of people thought Wright was the best player until the very end
That doesn't make it any less obvious. Anyone who thought Wright was the best player in that draft deservedly lost credibility. Either they weren't watching him play or they don't know how to evaluate prospects.

I feel like there wern’t many who actually thought Cooley was #1 lmao
And it's obvious how wrong they were. I don't have a good explanation for why so many people could have possibly had Wright or Slafkovsky over Cooley, it never made sense to me. I don't see how anyone could have watched these guys and come away with the idea that either of those guys was anywhere near Cooley.

People don’t actually watch the players and get caught up in narratives, stats and other peoples opinions.

Cooley's 75 pts was not exactly #1 stuff. It was pretty close between Slaf, Nemec, Cooley tbh.. with the information available at the time

Ryan Leonard outscored 75 by a good amount with 94 and a good number of people didn't even have him in their top 20

The reason that I‘m sure Bedard will pull off being a 5’10 Center in the NHL is his generational skills. Cooley is not Bedard. Give me part of an NHL season with Cooley before I close the books.

That's what stat watching gets you.

It all depends on what teams you watch. Torpedo and Sochi are real speedsters so the game was very fast. Some teams play way slower and more defensive hockey. And overall KHL isn't even close to NHL in physical aspect.
Personally I want to see passing and Skill more than the Physical part which the KHL doesn't lack but at least the players don't try to kill one another like the NHL did for over a 100 years

It’s the only thing I’m holding up for. That draft team has blown at least 2 out of 4 of their top-5 picks in NY\Mtl, probably 3 because I can’t fathom how Reinbacher will bridge the value gap with Michkov. I’m hoping against all hope that Slafkovsky is the one that works.
I like Slafkovsky's game , I just think there was some special forwards in last year's draft that weren't there in the slaf draft so it stings

I've made this point on the Flyers board already, but if Michkov/his linemates can just start finishing on even 10% more of these plays, his already PPG production is going to skyrocket. There are seemingly 3-5 of these high quality chances every single game, outside of the plays where he is scoring.

Should have gone 2nd overall. Insanity. could go down as the greatest draft steal of all time.
I don’t know about greatest draft steal of all time. Kucherov was a late second rounder. Not saying Michkov won’t be incredible, but how much higher is his potential than Kucherov?

Can't wait till it's Cutter Gauthier on the end of these setups instead of Tyanullin...

Well, let's see. Kucherov was still in the MHL in his D+1 year.

So yeah. Much higher.
