thats michkov coming in cold, off the bench since mid-august when he started seeing 13th forward minutes, and just explodes. you could tell there was some nerves at first, and he just wanted to do everything but as he settled into the ebb and flow of the game he started finding his moments. its going to be interesting to see how the coach deploys him and who his linemates are, this was game one with a morning skate no practice no video sessions nothing lol just raw

He played with the same dudes he finished the previous season with, Tyanulin and Garayev. They found solid chemistry in the end of the season and scored a lot of gooals as a line so it didn't take them a lot of time to start clicking again. It's going to be a pretty interesting line going forward. If of course injures don't happen.

Is it right to think that Rendulic and Kristof are both better than Tyanulin? If that's true, then I hope they split them up and give one of each of them to Michkov and Tyanulin

It's actually debatable who's better or worse, Tyanulin is solid. But I'd say it's a classical "ain't broke don't fix" situation. Good chemistry means more than just skills, and it's better to have two top lines than one.

Yep, definitely should have been playing behind Leipsic and Tolchinsky

KHL coaches are so weird, and the culture of never playing young guys no matter what is just lol
How anyone could watch Tolchinsky and see anything but mediocrity is beyond me. Only a fool would hitch his horse to that wagon long term.

Tolchinsky is a good player, very fast, very good hands, very good shot. IQ isn't bad as well. I've seen him enough to say it. Leipsic is a good player for KHL as well. And if we consider Michkov a center then both of them don't block Matvei at all. It's guys like Vorobyov and Galchinyuk that are questionable. I love Glotov more than any of them. Glotov-Kadeykin-Michkov-Zinchenko/Bardakov would be my choice. Gritsyuk-Michkov-Demidov looked great in preseason games, and it could be a great 2nd/3rd line.

They didn't have good chemistry at all. Michkovs eyes were almost every time on his teammates trying to anticipate their next moves. And Stalnov was centering Michkov and Tyanulin last season, not Garayev.

Sochis D looked super bad. I mean even worse than last year. Crazy how they where permanent out of position, were overrun, super slow or wouldn't be able to play a pass even if their lifes depended on it. If not for Berdin the game would have ended +/- with the same result as the first one against Severstal (3:6). I don't think we can expect much more from them this season than last. Unfortunately,

I've watched all their games, the line was Tyanulin - Garayev - Michkov, and they scored a lot of goals in the end of the season.

Rumor has it that Michkov changed both the Russian and North American agents.
