Dude .. every other player in the league has the opportunity to do the same thing

Also, this was his first season in the KHL. It's really not that hard of a concept that Michkov was improving as the season progressed. They also gave him the linemates he deserved in the back half
Artur Tianulin scored 15 pts in 13 last games for Sochi, and 8 goals, inc 7 pts and 5 goals vs Kunlun so yeah, some guys had this opportunity, but def not all, since all were not playing for a hopeless bottom dweller late in the season when all games are basically "practice with higher reaponsibility" and all didnt play against another bottom team that lost their chances and played BCHL level goalie to "train him" for team China

Yes, every player getting 13+ TOI who wasn't on Kunlun had a chance to obliterate Kunlun. But most didn't. There's more parity in the KHL than you seem to think

Tyanulin and Michkov were linemates in the back end of the season

Take away 2 Kunlun games and it is 4 pts in his last 11 games. He just reaped on a bottom team which was out of playoffs
But we dont take away games or points, theres bad teams at every level of competition, and every time he's moved up to the next level he keeps putting up points. The worst team in the KHL is still better than the best team in the MHL or VHL, so hes already ahead of the curve. This year he will feast on even tougher competition and youll have a new excuse to discount those achievements for arbitrary reasons.

Parity? Kunlun lost 5 games with this goalie with smth like 8-31

His stats were seriously inflated by this 2 games its a fact. And its not my "attack on a talented teen" or smth. He is talented indeed. However, you are using this inflated stats as an argument to why he should get Khusnutdinovs roster spot and Khusnutdinov should be sent to VHL. You cant have it both ways. 12 pts in 13 games is great for a teenager even with the circumstances that I mentioned. But you cant just take this stats compare them with Khusnutdinovs stats and say that Michkov should get his spot and then dismiss the evidence that your argument doesnt make sense.

How many points did ol Khunty get against Kunlun? Must be a bum if a kid like Michkov outperforms him against those bottom level goalies. What was big Khunt's statline just curious.

@Garl If there actually is any credence to the notion that Michkov was gifted points against Kunlun that apparently no one else was gifted despite playing against the same team ..... consider it karma for the fact that Michkov's teammates in Sochi often weren't good enough to do anything with the boundless opportunities he created for them

Michkov has played a total of 43 games in the KHL and has 25 points.
Even if you take away those games against Kunlun he'll still be sitting at 17 points in 41 games. Thats a better PPG than Kaprizov, Kucherov etc at the same ages.
Kaprizov had 8 points in 31 games at 18 and hes a 100+ point player in the NHL. If we're only looking at points, Michkov clears everyone.
The season starts in less than 48 hours, lets see what happens after Game 1

The KHL is also the weakest it has been in years. Should probably mention that for context. Not saying he isn't a great prospect at all, but lets not compare apples and oranges.

It isnt. May be not better than two years ago, but the real miss is only finnish club. Modern generation is better and bigger because economics is much better in the last 20 years than what it was in the period when young russian players started to play in KHL.

Someone smarter than me please answer: does CSKA and KHL being petulant f*** wits and playing fedotov today against IIHF direction mean that the NHL doesn’t have to respect KHL contracts for guys like michkov? Because that would be pretty sweet

Fedotov, not Fedatov. If the NHL decides not to respect KHL contracts the KHL won't be respecting NHL contracts.

The KHL is also several levels above NCAA or any Canadian Major Junior League.
What is the basis for the argument that the KHL is weaker right now? In all honesty
Most European players refuses to play in Russia due to their aggressive war against Ukraine, so there's been a talent drain.

Sick of it, but not sick of "12 pts in 13 games", "best season ever" and all of other stuff that is regurgitated here?

Before 2022 if you would check TOP 100 in scoring it was dominated by imports. Now, they left. And this is is a big blow, since russian player pool is very limited and dry after SKA, CSKA have made their job

Who did replace Hartikainen and Omark for Salavat?

Bigger and better LMAO

doesnt mean anything, its still the 2nd best league and hes still doing great
2nd best league is a meaningless catch phrase, invented when KHL had Jagr, young Radulov, Morozov and all the top European players who were not in the NHL.
Just say, strong European league. This 2nd best narrative creates a false reality
