RW Jani Nyman - No longer in Finland. Spent most of the season with Coachella Valley. Recently called up by Seattle. (2022, 49th, SEA)

Looks like a player with an NHL future to me. Big kid with a shot and seems to hold his own in the cycle.

I'm so out of touch with the Finnish league and prospects these days, had no idea this guy even existed. Seems to score goals where ever he goes.

You are not alone!
But as he scored 26 goals as a 19 year old in Liiga last season - the most by any U20 player in like 40 years - he for sure should have come with a lot of hype!
He is leading the AHL in scoring for rookies as well. I think the Kraken fanbase being small is probably why not more of us talk about him. One of the questions around him was speed but I think he has average skating.

What do we see his potential being? Good middle 6 winger that is also a regular on the PP1? I think the main thing holding him back is his skating but he seems to have improved upon it since his draft year.

I would say his shooting package is definitely very high-end. One timers are hard and accurate. Wrist shot is quick, heavy, and accurate too. In Coachella he was money in the slot and I saw himself find good routes today too so looking forward to seeing how he does in the next few games.

It's been intriguing to watch him develop since the draft. Seattle scouting did a great job identifying him and he has handled pro hockey against men very well. He is only 20 and already up to the National. Looks like a really nice power winger with PP skills in the future.

Was shocked he went as low as he did in the draft, even in 22-23 season he looked like a future NHL-er, just how good he was gonna be was the question.

From what I've seen, he can play in the NHL and might likely have a long career if he stays healthy. But I think they should put him on a line with Shane Wright.
