RW Dans Locmelis - Luleå HF, J20/SHL (2022, 119th, BOS)

50 points in 36 in swedish junior league. Woah!
Is that good for his age?
I mean, usually players his age are in Allswenskan or in SHL.
IIRC he started playing hockey pretty late, and is a late bloomer. He has looked pretty good in WJC and this might be Bruins letting him develop his offensive instincts and overall game.

Luleå are high on him and wants to use him for the pro-team (SHL) but he declines due to NCAA-comitment in 23-24.

It's good but nothing special. Not much to take away from it.

Pretty impressive WC for a 19-year old. Scored in the quarterfinals and semi-finals, and an assist in the Bronze medal game, while playing Center throughout. I look forward to watching him with UMass next year.

Yeah, I think he had a fantastic tournament. Hanging with all those guys is no small feat for a 19-year-old 4th rounder. His stock should be up. He had his chances and moments earlier in the tournament but yeah he started to produce when it mattered the most. 3 points in 3 playoff-stage games.

0.47 ppg in NCAA last season
0.89 ppg in NCAA this season

He's added about 7 lbs in that period.

I think Locmelis is right on track. He probably needs to add another 7 lbs and continue improving his rate of production.

If he finishes the season strong and has a really good pre-season camp, he could sign an ELC sooner than they predict.

This guy Locmelis has 10 points in his first 5 pro games in the AHL. I knew he was good, we all saw it, but he has been absolutely seamless, flowing, perfect in his game.

From what I could find, Abdelkader and Joshua Roy had 12 pts in their first 7 games.
A few more points and this could actually be an AHL record?

The Bruins agreed to let Ločmelis join the Latvian national team for the IIHF World Championships if anyone else is wondering why he wasn't in Providences' lineup this past game

Kid has rocketed up the rankings on our subforum with those that seem to understand prospects. I'm excited for him, might even make the big club next year.

Edit: The big thing is he seems to keep making jumps and then showing up. That's about the best you can hope for from the majority of prospects IMO.
