He was wrong to call a rookie a rookie? What even is this discussion? "Rookie" gets used all the time in this kind of context. Nobody "acted" or "framed" anything, it's just a you problem.
It's a me problem because I point out some misleading word choice?

I guess on a message board we shouldn't discuss what we agree and disagree about with the posts of others. Just nod along at every comment someone else makes.

It's a you problem because you found the word choice misleading even though it isn't just like it isn't a matter of discussion but a matter of fact. He IS a rookie.

He is eligible for Rookie of a Year and Rookie of a Month awards, awards given to players between ages 20-23 ALL THE TIME. These players are referred to as rookies ALL THE TIME. Be it in the media, in the league communications, wherever. This isn't some out-of-the-blue comment someone made like you are trying to act. You would find literally thousands of cases of players of such age referred to as rookies in such situations. Yet you have a problem with one specific post "on a message board".

You are taking out this pet peeve of yours on one poster even though you are the one who has the issue with what is otherwise widely accepted.

You are getting very accusatory, and your initial post towards me was passive-aggressive.

If you disagree with my view, no one is forcing you to respond. I have nothing against the poster I disagreed with. I could've easily responded in a rude manner if I had something against the poster. I pointed out nicely how a misleading argument for Graf could be made stronger.

It's a you problem if you can't take that in stride.

You wrote 4 posts "nicely" trying to prove you are right, which you weren't. I don't think I was even that passive, I was pretty openly trying to let you know you are annoying flooding the thread with a pointless argument that doesn't even have a real foundation and has little to do with the player himself. You can take this criticism in stride or you can whine about it.

Of course you were passive-aggressive. You directed a message towards me, but refused to quote me. Was your hope that I might miss it?

Everyone else? You polled the website?

I have no problem here. I responded to a post saying a part of it was misleading. I did so because that was my opinion. That's all. No different than any other post I make on this website. If that upsets you and you feel you need to react against something so obvious, you are the one with the problem.

So you've never heard anyone having an issue with people calling a 26 year old a rookie in the NHL? Because that's essentially what it is. The AHL is a developmental league. He's somewhat old (not terribly, but getting there) for a guy that is a legitimate prospect that is likely to play NHL games.

As I said, it technically is true that he's a rookie pro, but framing it that way is a little misleading. That's why I suggest it lends more credence to what he's done by explaining what he's accomplishing compared to all, not trying to act like he's on a level playing field as a rookie with Konsta Helenius (nearly 4 years younger).

22 y/os rookies in the AHL are totally normal. His draft year was 2021. It's not like this is some guy in his draft+7 lighting it up. There are all kinds of NCAA/Euro guys who come over at this age as AHL rookies and you are literally the only person I've ever seen who has any sort of issue with it.

Anyway, nice signing for SJ. Looks like one of the biggest NCAA UFA wins in quite some time.

Worrying about calling a 22 year old a rookie is wild when this guy literally was the Rookie of the Year at age 31

The Rookie is tied for the most points in the AHL, which is especially impressive as a Rookie. Can't say enough about how good of a Rookie he has been. Crazy thing is he's still a Rookie.
How dare you, sir? That man is TWENTY-TWO!!!
