New discussion thread for Elias "Calder" Petersson as the previous one went over 1000 posts.
2nd most valuble player in Canada?
I just mean like highest trade value. If you mean valuable like actually more important to the Canucks than any non-McDavid player is to their respective Canadian team, I think that could be argued. If you mean valuable like how the MVP means most outstanding player, then not yet.

You could argue Price is, but out of all skaters he's probably the second most valuable player to his team not only in Canada, but in the NHL period. No but he is the second most valuable player to his team in Canada
He’s not really a prospect anymore, is he?

I'd say Stone is(probably best two-way winger in the league), but not really any gap between him, Chabot, & Duchene.Chabot is also making a case for himself.
Oh how i dream that Colorado drafted him.. Would have solved our 2nd Center for the next decade. Now we can only hope Makar lives up to his potential as I always thought he was a reach at #4 overall
Just trying to keep up with Toronto and their superstar this and superstar that.Be careful what you wish for, ravenous Canucks fans will start creating more main board threads than they already do for attention if they don't have an outlet.
Pettersson and Boeser are some very nice players , if Vancouver keeps going like this , they could get another solid player in 2019 and start acquiring complimentary players to fill out the team.
I'd be interested to read about this fact. Could you provide a link?Funny thing is Benning wanted Makar over anyone in the draft.
I think we’re two top 10 picks away from being a playoff team. Assuming we can get an elite forward in the 2019 draft and then a top 4 dman in the 2020 draft, we should be set assuming our goalie prospects work out. Will definitely need to find another top 6 winger as well.

To 10 picks won't help you in the near future. The Canucks are many pieces away from being a playoff team, especially on defense. The current prospect pool is very thin as well, they need to sign a good goalie. Never count on a goalie prospect to pan out, they usually won't.
