This year there are 4 teams playing in Belarus President Club's Cup: Belarus U18, Kazakhstan U18, Russian National Women Team and Russian U16 team. So Russian Women played their first game vs Russian U16 and lost 8-1.
I think it's ana wesome idea but agree with Slater above... The U18 ladies should be playing U15 teams.
The Belarus U18 program has done very well at the U18's the last few years.. I suspect that game won't be close at all.
I salute and love the idea though.
I accidentally put U18... I meant the national women's team. My bad...It's not U18 Women Team, it's National. Adult, I mean.
Belarus U18 is nowhere close to VHL level. They will get destroyed. Belarus U18 for example is probably at VHL level

I realized only now that Belarus doesn't have a women's hockey team.
Btw Russia U16 is destroying Kazakhstan U18 right now 6-1.
Doesn’t Belarus have, uh, issues? Hf’s “no politics” rule really runs up against reality sometimes, but I’d think that has to do with economics tied to politics.
Would love to see a Kazakh game in-person- I was in Mongolia, and I just don’t get how a similar country could make hockey happen. Cold as shit, but good luck affording gear and rink time- shame, because people deserve hockey goddammit, but the infrastructure/support just aren’t there, currently, to my understanding.
I love it when people try to talk politics on hockey boards when it is not politcal.Doesn’t Belarus have, uh, issues? Hf’s “no politics” rule really runs up against reality sometimes, but I’d think that has to do with economics tied to politics.
Soviet remnants, they had some decent enough teams relatively speaking right after the Soviet collapse of players that were developed on the Soviet days. Now a days they are not so good, but there is enough rinks, infrastructure, etc. to keep it going, and there is a Kazakhstan based KHL team for the best players from there to grow into (and coveted players have options and opportunities to move around to other KHL teams). Their U20 team is generally good enough to hang in at the IA level and occasionally compete for a promotion spot into the Top Division.Would love to see a Kazakh game in-person- I was in Mongolia, and I just don’t get how a similar country could make hockey happen.

Can the Russian women beat the Kazakh and Belarusian boys?
Gotcha, interesting and thanks for the info! They’ve got some similarities elsewhere, but Mongolia never actually being part of the USSR must mean the hockey interest didn’t get any funding or anything- poor country, they were basically just a buffer between Stalin and Mao, oof.

Soviet hockey diplomacy is what created the few hockey that organically exists in China as well.Gotcha, interesting and thanks for the info!
