I just find it hilarious for Americans to lecture anyone on steroids and doping.

Lance Armstrong conned the world for years
And if his last name was Armstrongov he would still be known as the only 7 time TDF champion with major Russian politicians saying that it was a western conspiracy to discredit him.

Also if the equivalent of a US District Attorney tried to investigate him there would be a another story about those mysterious Russian gunman that kill anybody who exposes corruption and never seem to be caught.

As somebody who follows professional cycling the top 30 riders were all doped out of their minds. Credit to the people of integrity that exposed it.

IMO, it should go to to the highest ranked team in the current IIHF World Ranking that's not (currently) in the tournament.

For the men, that would be Belarus, and for the women, Germany.
Belarus would be a fun substitution, provided that KHL participates, as they don't have a single player in the NHL and would have close to the best team they could possibly have.

The US have a pretty dark history of doping in track and field...Marion Jones, Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay, Inika McPherson, is the names I can find easily, but Im pretty sure there is more.

In the eighties there were probably plenty too, who never got caught because of less effective controlls. Though maybe more or less all athletes was doped in some way back then. Of course even earlier doping was legal, more or less.

No one is denying that for example American athletes are doping but they're individuals. Let's be reality, one of the political parties would raise hell if the government spent money on doping up athletes.

My light reading on this, is that the punishment is heavy, not because of the Doping, which is really bad, but because Russia tampered with samples at an IOC facility.
Which is a lie based on a lie by a lier. That's how things are done in the West, right?

ot trouble here. We knew it all along. f the international community doesn'tneed Olympics, so be it. I have no interest in the even in it's current state since 2016. Go watch your meaninglessgames of waht?

Because those were just the athletes trying to cheat, there was no FBI replacing their urine samples. The whole point is to punish the state- organized and sponsored doping system
Did you listen to Bach press conference? Schmidt said that there is no proof that russian governement was involed

But dont you think that if that report has 180 pages, there should be some official Russia statement towards this? Report specifically described that system. No one even from russian politics was so arogant to say to IOC that its just their imagination without any proves. Sorry but how can you just call it fake western investigation?
McLaren himself claims that the only source he has is Rodchenkov, a guy known for mental health problem

Then you probably have worst lawyers ever. Dont know what to say....

I really doubt if RUSADA was infiltrated, only one guy who is connected to WADA is that Rodchenkov when WADA is central agency. And no, he mentioned one more guy plus others who are under confidentiality. And that makes very sence based on previous sentence.

Still thx for response. First post without russophobia statement getting at least closer.

Wow.....

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko has been banned for life from attending the games. He's the guy in charge of the 2018 World Cup. If Russia want to have any credibility there, he has to resign.

Staggering amount of evidence in this case. No excuses, no "everyone does it"...because they dont.......and if you think they do, youre beyond help. If Russia wants to maintain credibility in the sporting world, they need to fire some folks.

Sad day to be a Russian sports fan.
