And whose fault is that?

I feel bad for Russian athletes. They are the victims in all of this. The Russian government & Olympic committee is pathetic. They got caught red handed. They need to suck it up and apologize. But that will obviously never happen. That's not the Russian way. Now they're going all-in on their scheme and threatening to pull out of the IIHF which is going to have all sorts of consequences. Jesus Christ... Just give up.

Olympic hockey without NHL and KHL.

Back to its roots.

Seriously why even bother going to Korea this winter? Save your money for the World Cup in Russia

This pretty much only applies to Swedish and Russian fans and the Russians are already in Russia. Although maybe they need to save money anyway just to live in Russia during the World Cup I dunno. Oh I guess the Swiss fans can face the choice between the two.

very well deserved. No room for cheaters and now they can't cruise to an easy medal (which they desperately needed since we all know Russia can't do anything in a true best on best)

There won't be a world cup. Lockout will cancel it. International hockey is basically dead now.

Is there going to be a lock out? Are the NHL NHLPA CBA expiring by then? And we can all expect another lock out as it always are lockouts between these CBAs?

In September of 2019 the players have the option to opt out of the current CBA which would then expire in September 2020. The next world cup would be scheduled then but Bettman has already said out loud on the record there won't be a world cup if the CBA ends that month.

Of course there is no guarantee the players will opt out of the CBA but logic has never governed these decisions.

No doubt Russian individual athletes are doped up like Ben Johnson was, but the majority of the national team are NHLers so they do pass the NHL control and that puts them on the same line as other top hockey players.

The Russian sports system (and politicians meddling with it) is all absolutely f***ed up, but then so is the IOC with its corruption. I think it's hilarious they both lose.

The whole tournament is a joke with or without Russians. It honestly should have been combined with the WJC to give it prestige.

The World Cup is where you see the true team Russia. Bettman must be laughing. Olympic hockey was always a bad idea. Except for the IOC as long as they got free pro superstars. But then it was such a one-sided affair where leagues lost revenue and the IOC millionaire board members pocketed the profit on top of the regular bribes they get.

Making it U20 would just make it even more of a joke except in maybe Canada.

In other news, Hockey Canada offices were shut down today, and for the rest of the week, for a party.

Was his doping controlled by the government?

The US have a pretty dark history of doping in track and field...Marion Jones, Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay, Inika McPherson, is the names I can find easily, but Im pretty sure there is more.

In the eighties there were probably plenty too, who never got caught because of less effective controlls. Though maybe more or less all athletes was doped in some way back then. Of course even earlier doping was legal, more or less.

What amazes me is in 2017, a time in human history with the freest flow of information. The Internet, alternative media, social media, independent journalists people still just swallow the fake news media without even thinking to question it.
