Because they haven't been fine? When you've been stuck on a bad team like 6 years it takes a toll, lets see if Dostal still has the same numbers if the Ducks continue to suck for 6 more years. I doubt it.

This is obvious common sense to anyone, but some people are trying to twist themselves into a pretzel to deny it.

Riddle me this: How many Cups do Crosby and Malkin have without MAF and Murray? The answer is 0.

We may not be able to get that level of goaltending but we should at least try to get a tandem that is above average. This is obvious to most people except the geniuses in the Oilers front office.
Where is Murray now?
You need to look at the entire team makeup. Not just goalies.

10. Vancouver is trying to find a better fit for Vincent Desharnais. It just hasn’t worked out as everyone hoped.

lol.

15. Alec Regula won’t be Edmonton’s last defensive move. They will consider both lefties and righties.

Tell us something we don't know, Elliot.

Also if we had an RD trade brewing in the background it might be a good time to pull the trigger
Right when Bouchard gets hurt. Sure. GM on the other side says, add another first since Bouchard is down.

Good time to pull the trigger and get fleeced an extra pick just because Bouchard ran into the post.

It’d be interesting (depending on your definition) if these two thoughts end up being linked.

Game 1 we allowed only 17 shots against and lost, Skinner .882
Game 2, Skinner with a .893
Game 3, Skinner with a .826

Skinner was absolutely a big part of the reason we don't have a Cup banner. Hard to win a series when your starter starts it like that.

2/3 bad games to start a series, ok fine maybe you can work with that, but 3/3 is virtually impossible to come back from.

Sather always used to say goaltending can lose you or win the other team one game in a series, and fine, but if it becomes two, you're out.

Three straight bad games in net is a death knell in the playoffs period, let alone the finals.

Keeping in mind that average sv% in the playoffs is usually like .915.

The average sv% in last year's playoffs was 0.905.

2 goalies with >4gp had a sv% higher than 0.915. Shersterkin and Swayman.

We need to readjust our expectations for goaltending statistics. Seravalli sai a few days ago that the league average right now is 0.894.

I disagree. We would like that trade now, and maybe a premium for that, but it's not do or die. If Bouchard is out he's still going to be here for the playoffs. We aren't going to miss the playoffs from missing Bouchard for a while. The only leverage they'd have over us is maybe a few wins of difference (and thats if hes out a very long time, which is unlikely). It's not worth another first.

Plus, Bouchard's reputation in the league is not that high. It's part of why he wasn't picked for team Canada. We are the McDrai show in the eyes of the league

And basically I'm just saying pick up the phone. If the deal becomes insane then don't make it.

The Mooch/Leech, Lindholm has 3 goals in 30 games for the B's. 7 years at 7.75m. LOL

Looks good on him. Hilarious that he turned down over 8.5 with CGY. I REALLY wanted CGY to sign this fake tough guy soft mooch.

Gaudreau (RIP) really elevated this guy in CGY

I don't see the path for any of the players that chased the money to find their way back into our green pasture. I wouldn't take Desharnais (or Kostin) back at their current cap numbers, and to get a third party team to broker such a small deal wouldn't be worth using their retention slot.

Technically Skinner for VD saves cap this year… although it adds cap hit next season.
