If Seattle is picking up Price he won’t play a game for them, they’ll probably just retain him and send him off to a dumb team that’ll give them a ton. They already are a lock for Driedger and you can get better things for 10.5M

It's not so much losing Benson, but more so protecting Kassian for no good reason

I'm praying Holland leaves Kassian exposed and he gets claimed. That 3.2M cap space in this current free agency climate (flat cap, UFAs getting less) would be huge

Or he protects him to trade him after the expansion draft.

Then he retires having won absolutely nothing for the "best goalie of the generation"

Say the Oilers protect Kassian and Seattle picks Benson. The ideal trade for the Oilers is to move Kassian for a prospect or pick anyways (assuming he actually has value). Why not just keep Benson at that point?

Either way, the Oilers will lose an asset in the expansion draft. Might as well be Kassian's contract.

What bothers me is all those trades are on going becuase of the x-draft. So its primetime to awquire that 3Center that Oilers have searched with light and lamp for forever and failed.

And Holland doing nothing at all.

Make a move! Why not ask Pittsburgh the cost of Zucker or Thierny in Ottawa. Like? Why not?
How do you know he didn't ask the price of those guys?

Imagine losing Price at the expense of saving Allen.

It would open up cap for them but they would need a number one goalie.
There are a good bunch in UFA, Montreal isnt sweating. Also posting .907 in 4 years isn’t #1 goalie status lol. Just because he had a wild playoff run doesn’t mean you ignore his past results. Tons of goalies get hot in the playoffs.

That $11M signing bonus on Price's deal for this season would be a pretty good kick in the pants for Seattle's owner.

The issue with Kassian that he's been checked out majorly after re-signing due to having a hot streak playing with McDavid. If Kassian would bring out the annoying pest type of game on a consistent basis, I'd be a happy camper. That being said, I don't see the Oilers exposing him for expansion. Especially after Keith's comments, and the fact that this organization still values toughness at a high capacity.

It would have been nice to squeeze some teams today but it looks like Holland only likes to be squeezed #FreshlySqueezedHollanade
