The rot's still there, McDavid just overshadows it with how good he is.The decisions the organization has made this year have set the team back significantly, JJ and Bowman are likely the last front office we get in McDrai's prime, and they have had an unbelievably bad start that will take years to recover from. It seems all of Drai, Frederic, and now Ekholm were rushed back and all were re-injured. This is decade of darkness level incompetence we're seeing right now.
Ekholm hasnt even been ekholm this year tho.No but he ain’t no Ekholm.
This is where my mind is at as well. I don't love both stetcher and Emberson as everyday guys, but it's better than dineen.Ekholm hasn’t been himself for much of the season.
Good thing they got Walman
Don’t you think that you are a bit over thinking a player who just turned 21 playing a season in a league he was clearly way too good for?
No but he ain’t no Ekholm.
This reminds me of Savoie getting dumped on for not being in the AHL. You can only do your best with the opportunity provided.I think his point is more that this faith in Jonsson is unjustified, especially since where he's at in this stage of his development doesn't compare favorably to Swedish goalies currently in the NHL.

I said this last year and you guys roasted me lol. I completely agree. Though I want to see Connor get 100 ptsScratch everyone for the remaining games and forfeit them.
I don’t care about the integrity of the league, it’s not like the league itself cares about it either.
I’m not overly concerned with the first round but we aren’t winning the cup without EkholmGonna be hard to get out of the first round this year now. Walking wounded the last month. We are either pine first round or we win it all. No in between folks......

Avs are sitting basically every key player in their game today against LA. We should be doing the same, we aren't catching LA.Scratch everyone for the remaining games and forfeit them.

Agreed, even before clinching this is the approach they should've taken.Avs are sitting basically every key player in their game today against LA. We should be doing the same, we aren't catching LA.
Someone over at Lowetides, before Rishaug came out with this, said torn groin muscle, out for the playoffs, needs surgery.
Yup no point. Maybe if avs win in regulation then you can try but it's not looking like it.Avs are sitting basically every key player in their game today against LA. We should be doing the same, we aren't catching LA.
He's become such a salty, messy, bitch since getting less open access lolRishaug has to be the best in the game at breaking bad news. Dude lives for this moment
LA routinely tries to injure players too. Avs are being smart for sureYup no point. Maybe if avs win in regulation then you can try but it's not looking like it.
Clearly way too good for? He had the best stats in his league but wasn’t even played the most on his team.Don’t you think that you are a bit over thinking a player who just turned 21 playing a season in a league he was clearly way too good for?
Is it that rare? It's very rare for teenage goaltenders to play and start in the Swedish Elite League. I think Wallstedt is the picture boy of that and he was accordingly an NHL first round draft pick and #1 goaltender in his draft class.
The inherent challenge of this position is only one guy ices in a game. So they need to get reps to build their game and experience. In North America terms, it's why the ECHL is a reasonable development starting point for goalies versus stigmatizing their assignment to a lower pro league. Play, compete, grow, and develop.
Jonsson playing big games against pro competition and excelling in a tandem pairing with an age 32 teammate is a really big deal.
That’s a d that will struggle to get out of the first round.Walman - Bouchard
Nurse - Stetcher
Kulak - Klingberg/Emberson
Thank goodness they acquired Walman.

Weren’t you calling it the summer of Jackson after free agency day?Not a damn thing.
