Sorry man I just don't have as much faith in Stecher as you and others do. Emberson I have lots of faith in. He's eventually going to be a Top 4 Dman in the Vlasic mold but obviously not as good (M.E. Vlasic). But we can't rush him into a huge position like that either.

I'll just say I have more faith in Stecher than Brown lol

Not based on what inside analysts said. Seravalli said both the Dallas and Florida series opened teams eyes up to Broberg and they saw him as a very good Dman. St. Louis didn't just give him that offersheet for fun

O'Reilly and Savoie aren't going anywhere unless a top pairing Dman is available
No need to apologize- it’s your opinion and you are entitled to it.

On Broberg, he got decimated in the finals. He had the worst xGA of any d man in the playoffs. He was an absolute tire fire. Fortunately, Skinner rocked a .940 on ice sv% when Broberg was on the ice. He didn’t even keep his head about water. Now, he was playing his wrong side and showed excellent puck moving skills, but he still wasnt very good defensively.

On Stetcher, we’ll see what he is. I have faith based on what we see. He was very good at denying zone entries and transitional defence last year, all of which Nurse sucks at. Nurse did well with Bear because Bear was good at denying the zone, getting the puck, and quick zone exits. If Stetcher can do that, he’ll succeed with Nurse. He doesn’t need a defensive d to be his partner- he needs some to move the puck out quickly because he sucks at in zone defence

I see Philly is trying to sneak Ronnie Attard through waivers early.

He's a rightie I was eying as a potential claim if all else failed. Kind of Brent Burns-esque. 6'3'' 210lbs, athletic, rangy offensive risk-taker and has a nuclear weapon for a shot.

I would not call them trying to sneak the guy down. He is 25 with 6 pts in 29 nhl games. Problem is in his own zone sometimes. I saw a few Flyers games last year he played in and he looks to me to be one of those real good ahlers that is just "that" much from being a guy who can play in the NHL

Concerned that we lost 5 out of our top 10 hitters on the team.

Emberson and Brown hit but Skinner and Ardvidson don't scare anyone and Perry is so slow he can't catch anyone. Podkolzen hits which will help too.

Right on. According to Facebook we signed Demelo. Seems like a lot of money but hopefully Winnipeg doesn't mind.

So Holloway two goals huh... Bum
But we got to keep Perry!
Losing Holloway will sting for a bit especially if he keeps producing.
But i don't expect him to stay healthy for too long.. the kid plays like Hall.

I'm pretty happy with the forward prospects thus far in camp. Either they will have some impact or they can be used as trade chips for some RD.

I remember 3 odd seasons ago Holloway had 4 goals in 4 games and then went on to have 9 points in 51 games. Means nothing.

Honestly Podkolzin might be a better fit on the 4th line. He's throwing hits and killing penalties. He also only costs 1M compared to Holloway's 2.3M. Those savings allows us to afford Lavoie and still save 500k. Oh and we upgraded our 4th round pick like 45 spots.

Holloway is one bulldozing himself into the boards from having his wrist permanently done. The handwringing is unnecessary.

In terms of hits/60 last season:
Brown>Desharnais
Emberson>Ceci
Podkolzin>Holloway

Yes, Foegele hits more than Skinner or Arvidsson, but Henrique lays the body more than McLeod so that’s a bit of a saw off for the middle six.

And we haven’t lost Kane. He’s just injured. He’ll be back sometime around the deadline.

Schultz or Shattenkirk should have signed a PTO here. Whoever might have done so would have probably got a contract by now
I felt the same. I wonder why they wouldn't go with a PTO somewhere.

As far as the forwards go, I'll echo what others have said here.

Podkolzin, Philp and Lavoie have all played well enough to earn a spot. But Ryan has also earned a spot on the opening night roster, and McDrai seem to love Perry too much to let him go.

I don't want to risk Podkolzin or Lavoie on waivers. Let Philp get big minutes on a line with Savoie. Let him be the first call-up during an injury, or when someone just can't hack it anymore.

It's nice to have a couple forward prospect call-ups to be excited about. Jarventi could join that discussion too if healthy.

I'd also sign Dermott for 900k and demote Brown.
