My dad had a double hernia surgery and said that was an absolute bastard. Mind you he was far past his prime when he was very fit and strong. Poor Kane has that and then some. Everything needs to heal properly, rushing back and reinjuring himself would be the worst case scenario.

Keep in mind too though the time lines for recovery are often for non-contact activities too, lol, they're not accounting for you just stepping out and getting smashed into repeatedly with contact at an NHL level. It's more of a "yeah you could get back out there on the tennis court and play" and even then getting 100% strength back in the area takes a lot longer.

It doesn't do Kane much good to just get out there and reinjure himself, you would want to take extra time to make sure the strength is to 100%.

Francouz (Avs goalie) had single adductor surgery last summer and missed the entire season. Having double adductor surgery, plus the other injuries he has (torn abdominal), he will be fortunate if he's ready even for the start of the playoffs.

Some don't understand the complexity of the surgery and they don't understand the obstacles presented while rehabbing both sides of the body simultaneously back to full strength.

Recovery could be fast. Recovery could be slow. But going from 99% recovered to 100% recovered should take him to the end of the regular season.

Kane can focus on getting to the highest levels of strength and agility possible for his NHL comeback. How long does that take?

Anybody know that if Kane is ready to come back in April, would he qualify for a week or so conditioning stint on the farm to get back up to game speed etc? I know it's been done in the past with certain players after a long injury, but just not sure what one had to do to qualify for this.

Goalies have it pretty hard too, you need to be able to go through your whole range of motion to make a save or move throughout the crease without it being painful or you are likely to play very hesitant with reinjury becoming possible as you have to continuously move throughout the whole 60 min. Demko having that lingering injury would be pretty scary if I was a Canucks fan.
