For the 100th time Kesserling requested a trade. He felt our depth was too much and he would never play here.
Who cares what Kesselring wanted? His rights belonged to the Oilers. What was he going to do, refuse a recall if he got a chance? Not sign an RFA deal and just sit his career out?

Yes he would have refused to sign much like Reider and that forward we shipped to the canes did (can’t remember his name Riley Nash I think). If he didn’t sign he would have either gone back on the draft or been a UFA. This exact thing happened with Lombardi and Stoll as well. Both refused to sign and ended up on opposite teams after going back in the draft.

Stetcher's a nice pick up as depth. From what I remember of him skates fairly well and can move the puck alright. Hoping we're still in on one more trade though. Preferably Carrier.

Carrier @50% in Ceci out should open enough space to still add a 5-6M forward with retention I'm pretty sure. Lets see if Kenny has the balls to really go all in.

He looked decent with Vancouver from what I remember but this isn't a Ceci upgrade

I think he's a Ceci side grade - but one thing I'll note is I probably play Stetcher over Ceci because he has less of a tendency to cheat forward for offense.

That drives me nuts about Ceci. He makes higher risk reward plays like that and they're always awful - all risk no reward.

I get it that he's a good skater but like man... Hands / Shot / passing of stone.

I don't think that was an option for him, he was already signed.

Kesselring was already under contract for the Oilers. He played 2 years for our AHL team. There was no going back into the draft. There was no going to UFA.
