In the fourth round at No. 109, the Flyers chose center/left wing Connor Bunnaman. The 6-foot, 183-pound Guelph native played for Kitchener this season with 16 goals and 38 points in 68 games.

“I had to play both positions at Kitchener just to get into the lineup,” Bunnaman said. “I like center more — like taking draws.”

He said he got the impression the Flyers were going to take him and contacted him several times throughout the season.

Scouts say he’s strong on the puck, plays hard along the walls and projects as a third-line center in the NHL.

“I feel I’m a two-way power forward who could fit into their system,” Bunnaman said, adding while he doesn’t have a deep knowledge of the Flyers, he liked watching Danny Briere play.

Good size and defense. Worried about his offensive contribution though. Plays a 2-way game.

Not super familiar. What's his ceiling? Floor? Would love some insight from someone who is familiar with his game. Thanks

My boy. Watched him quite a bit the last couple years live in Kitchener. Reminds me of Dove-Mcfalls a lot. Projects as bottom 6er with a good all around game.

3rd liner sounds right. Versatile. Beast on the cycle. He won't hurt you anywhere on the ice.

penalty killer, banger. Another "will" guy who can skate.

rats, passed on Gregor again. I guess the scouts weren't fans. I liked Kopacka and Zimmer here too, but they went earlier in the round.

Pittsburgh showed that having guys like this in the bottom 6 is essential.

which bottom pens guy does he remind you of? sounds like he will take advantage of opposing 3rd line defense.

"Will guy who can skate" sounds a lot like Paul Rust to me..who Pitt took with their last pick in the draft s few years ago.

Seems like he was a good scorer at ES this year, with an expanded role he could be a guy who sees a nice increase in production next year.

Powerplay points this year:

Bunnaman- 3
Twarynski- 5
Salinitri- 3

If you're going to find gems from the CHL in later rounds you have to select the guys that were underused. Myers is proof of that.

Yeah he's a little younger too, seems like a fair amount of spring & summer birthdays selected this year.

Probably similar case like Twarynski (or Salinitri), drafted for forward depth, bottom 6 upside, but you never know!

Although I would have preferred to have only 2 of Twarynski, Salinitri and Bunnaman, not all 3. We could have used one of these picks a little bit better, I think, for the player with more upside.

Would've like more of an offensive upside at 109. If he could fly, I'd be more positive about it, but I've read he isn't a speed demon. I prefer 4th line upside guys in the 5th round on.

Just looking at their roster they lose Ryan MacInnis, Gustaf Franzen, & Brandon Robison upfront. Possibly some more with some overage options that need to be decided. So Bunnaman should be leaned on more in Kitchener next year.

Charlie O'Connor really liked this pick. Apparently Bun was among the better ES scorers adjusted for playing time in CHL last year.

I would also like more offensive upside in these rounds 3-7 picks but this seemed like a very plug-and-play draft for the Flyers.

Maybe they wanted to balance out with last years draft when they took a few more boom/bust picks like Kase and Vorobyov?

Vorobyov wasn't a boom/bust pick. He's got good size and he's a two-way center. You're right about Kase, though
