He is 05. He also is a very offensive offensive defenseman, who is not very good defensively. MA Bergeron type.124 days older.
Yes, late birth players are never directly compared to the younger year players statswise. If they were, then MBN should have been a TOP 5 pick and Simon Zether should have went in the TOP 15 at least. 2.0 PPG in J20 and 6'3, was he a 06 player, he would go in TOP 15.I’m sure that 1/3 of a year is all the difference.
Your '05 argument might have some merit if he already ran through the J20 circuit for multiple seasons but this was his first full season in the league and he was the leading scorer on his own team by 10 points. He is 05. He also is a very offensive offensive defenseman, who is not very good defensively. MA Bergeron type.
Just because a guy puts up points doesn’t mean he’s bad defensively. He is 05. He also is a very offensive offensive defenseman, who is not very good defensively. MA Bergeron type.
Who? Fransen? He is. Maybe he will correct that, but so far in both SHL and with National Team he was not good defensively. Otherwise, he would have went way higher, I mean, offensively he is very very good.Just because a guy puts up points doesn’t mean he’s bad defensively.
Any idea why it was his first season in J20?))Your '05 argument might have some merit if he already ran through the J20 circuit for multiple seasons but this was his first full season in the league and he was the leading scorer on his own team by 10 points.
The track record of defensemen who lead their team in scoring as first time draft eligibles is a pretty good bucket to draft from not matter your flimsy comparisons.
I’ve seen a ton of him this year. Disagree .Who? Fransen? He is. Maybe he will correct that, but so far in both SHL and with National Team he was not good defensively. Otherwise, he would have went way higher, I mean, offensively he is very very good.
Possibly because that's where most of his peers play when they are his age? Late bloomer?Any idea why it was his first season in J20?))
Most peers who will never get drafted.Possibly because that's where most of his peers play when they are his age? Late bloomer?
You are really hung up on four weeks. It's a ridiculous argument.
Thanks man. You should be working in the league with these insights. Your talent is wasted here. Most peers who will never get drafted.
He is not good in his own end. Thats main reason.
However, was Fransen a 06 playet, he would have went way higher. It is how it works. He is a 05 so he is compared to 05 players. To ASP to Lindstein. And he is way behind. Compared to Freij and Wallenius he is at the same level at least, if not better overall. But they went higher. Why? They are 06. It is how it works
In hockey Fransen is considered to be a year older. He most likely always played with older players, had this extra year of development.
Thanks man. You should be working in the league with these insights. Your talent is wasted here.
And could have chosen much better centers at each chance. This team has drafted maybe 1-2 centers (arguably 0?) since 2018. So weird it’s centerpalooza this draft, right?!
Or, people do not agree with using a second round pick on a guy where if everything comes together might be a bottom 6 player. It's not that difficult if you actually use your head and read what others are saying. This is hilarious. People hating on getting a big hard working power forward. lol, only in Philly.

Not a lot of 2nd round picks become top line players. That's not a reality. It happens, but it's not common.Or, people do not agree with using a second round pick on a guy where if everything comes together might be a bottom 6 player. Less than 1/4 of all second round picks ever make it to the NHL so drafting a guy who has definite 3rd line potential does not seem unreasonable to me.If the best a player can be is 3C or 4C in the NHL and has a higher chance of never getting to the NHL as a 2nd round draft pick, then you really f***ed up.
To say it's because we're hating on "big hard working power forward" is bullshit, especially when he probably won't even be an NHLer. If he can't score and if he can't skate, he won't be in the NHL.
