Series Talk: Round 1 - Battle of FLA Part 4 - Panthers Lead 2-0

That will have a lot to do with the matchups. Tampa is a tougher out so it should not be surprising that our percentage would be lower. If we facing any other team I would expect our percentage to be higher.
Panthers are underdogs. They played badly after Ek's suspension. They dropped to the 3rd position in the division. Okay, they rested players but they already performed poorly before that. There are no guarantees that the team will do well as a unit after injuries and rests. Rhythm is required and Tampa is such a tough opponent that there is no time for "warm-up" for play-offs. They need to bring their A game from the gates and I am not sure they can do it.

Once they start throwing the body they will hop right back into form.

This team has shown in the last few seasons that they really do not care about the regular season. They have shown that they are more likely to take it up a level in the playoffs, rather than not bring their "A game" when required.

It's almost time to play my hastily made Florida Panthers Hockey Bingo ™️

The free square in the center is "Goldie tries to jinx us in the 3rd" (a given).

Did I miss anything?

You should change this to Ekblad pinching. The whipping boy deserves his own square.

Honestly lookin at some of these teams makes me wish we tried a bit harder to get a team like ottawa to get into playoff form/guys back. Lookin back at those blown leads against weak teams these past months
hurt to look back on.

I get you shouldnt play for a certain opponent but were now at the toughest opponent and on the road and not fully up to speed/health.

My concern is the team knew that getting that 2-3rd matchup would give them an extra week which isnt good meaning that our guys are insanely banged up/not really ready.

Gonna really need prime bob to step up for the 3rd playoffs in a row to give us a chance.

I whish there was a common thread to discuss fan's sentiments about this match-up from both sides(I don't mean trash talking) , Tampa Bay fans are equally worried about us.

Hockey writers pick a narrative where all of them agree to talk about it for every playoffs, I personally do not listen to that garbage, I am fan of podcasts rather, last year was McDavid, before that it was the incredible run the Boston Bruins were on, and they all repeat the same stories, while ignoring what it is in front of them, because it is suppose to be more interesting and more about what the audience wants to hear.

We have a roster that can match up very well with Tampa, these are 2 elite teams, arguable one of the most interesting match ups in this playoffs, the toughest teams, the ones to beat, it has been said, the team that wins this round, can very well be on the way to the cup finals.

We have questions because our season has not been as fluid as we were expecting it to be, loosing Ekblad and Tkachuck didn't help, Verhaeghe down year is another one, loosing OEL and Montour didn't help either, but in paper, this team is as elite as it gets.

The questions we all have, are they going to be able to turn it on by tomorrow? can Ekblad and Tkatchuck get up to game speed? Can Bobrosky be that guy again?

In my mind, all we need is to win one game of the 2 at Tampa, then, all is equal.

I am not ignoring your anxiety levels, but just know that it is equally shared on both sides

The media fiddles, while….

Brady reflects:
Where was their captain tonight? He was invisible, a non-factor. The Senators were hitting but Brady was uncharacteristically a non-agitator. He had a clear-cut breakaway and couldn’t finish. That would have totally changed the game. “Brady Sucks.”

Matthew grins:
Will Tkachuk be available for game one? If Matthew is playing game one, how effective can he really be? Coach Maurice, “we will make a final decision on game day”. And so, the not-so-mysterious mystery lingers in the ethos. It makes for good headlines. Each Tampa pre-series meeting is lightly sprinkled with a “he should be playng” mention.

BIG Walt unleashes:
Okay boys, go get ‘em.

All I ask of us fans is not saying the world is coming to end if we lose in 5 or 6 games here.

We could easily run it back next season with the same squad, post 110 points and have home ice advantage throughout the playoffs.

If we get scored on 5 or 6 mins into game 1, people will start saying this

But I do get your point and will follow your instructions.

We just haven't seen our full roster playing at its potential - our anxiety is just not knowing what we'd be getting in a few days. But point definitely taken. It's hilarious to read that other boards think of us as some kind of domesday juggernant, while we're making bingo cards on how every single player on our roster (including our play by play commentator) sucks :D .

I've moved from Tampa in 6 to Cats in 7, so I'm finally there for the win!! However, given the amount of hockey we've played, I'd be happy enough if we just make it a competitive series. I'd be absolutely ecstactic if we manage to beat Tampa and then Toronto/Ottawa.

This does not sound good if it's that down to the wire...
im hopin hes just really messin around with it
Not the greatest reference but we all thought benny was gone for the playoffs last year, although he missed basically a series worth of games, but listening to pauls updates you thought he was dead
