I think the biggest issue is Jones-Schmidt-Balinskis is a downgrade from Ekblad-Montour-OEL. If we had everyone healthy and not suspended to start the playoffs. Then I think dropping at least one of Schmidt or Balinskis and inserting Ekblad into the lineup plus having a slightly better forward group would balance things back up.

2 years ago we needed a 100% MT throughout the whole POs to succeed. Last year he did not have to be dominant (e.g. He only had 3 points against EDM in 7 games). OTOH he had 9 points in 5 games against TB.

We can survive without prime MT. I am more worried with the Ekblad-Jones situation.

My expectations aren't too high for this year, it's asking a lot out of the team to go all the way three full seasons straight, and we're really not 100% healthy. I am expecting a deep run next year, though.
