In a vacuum, this is a lot like the Wild-Knights game 7. Better team shows why they had a convincing lead in the series in the first place.

But i like the Habs chances a lot better here. If you're Toronto you need all hands on deck and missing Tavares & Muzzin really hurts.

Also the Leafs are 1-4 this season after losing 2 in a row. Their only win being a tight 2-1 win over the Sens earlier on in the season. For whatever reason, as good as they've been, they've seemed to grip their sticks a little tight in these situations and their goalies haven't had the best nights.

Needless to say, squeezing your stick and Campbell letting in a couple softies is exactly what Montreal is hoping for.

Still think the Leafs are going to win though, but leaving a backdoor open for the Habs for sure.

Habs fans, you guys have been beauties. One thing I realized, the only difference between yourself and Leaf fans is the team you cheer for. You're just as passionate, just as proud, just as petty and just as loyal as us. Cheers to what is hopefully a great game. Hopefully it stays civil in here but who am I kidding.

It will be tough. The loss of JT has hurt us, and Muzz hurts us even more. Those are MASSIVE parts of our team. Throw in Hyman still coming back from injury, and Foligno injured it starts to stack up.

But you gotta push through. We still have guys like AM, MM, and WN. They need to step up or we are doomed.

Man if we were fully healthy and our top players played like they can this series would have been over in 4. But alas here we are in game 7, anyone's series.

But full credit to the Habs. They played to the absolute top of there game the last 2 games and deserved the wins.

I'll be cheering for Habs to win because this is my team but I expect Leafs to wake up tonight, too much talent on that team, please surprise me Habs!

Also, I've seen many times (I understand the frustration for Leafs fans) the suggestion to fire Dubas and I really don't get it. He's been on the job for only 3 years and he did build a great team in his limited time. This is on the players.

On paper they have all you want from a roster considering the hard cap the NHL has. His only weakness which is a big one hindering the team is his negociation skills. He really blew it with his star RFA's but no GM is perfect.

Whoever wins, let's hope for a great game and no OT please... my heart can't handle it.

Other thing we have in common : Our teams have sucked for much too long.

Except the Leafs have sucked for much longer. ;)

At least I know the feeling of seeing my team win the Cup. :sarcasm:

But I love you too, Leafs fans.

Imo we will know how this is going to go after the first 10 minutes. If the Leafs come out on fire I think they win no matter how Price plays. If Montreal comes out like they did the last couple of games hitting everything that moves and carrying the play while the Leafs look tentative then I think Montreal takes it.
The bottom line is that I wouldn’t be surprised by either a Leaf blowout win or a closer Montreal win. Game 7’s are hard to predict.

Odd take for a series where almost all the goals have come in the 3rd period

I LOVE that at this point neither fanbase is cocky, we're all just a bunch of fans having no faith and confidence in our respective team.

This is hilarious and thank god the series went this way.

Habs in seven, make it happen!!
Pretty much. But ever since the game 5 loss, I've been confident the habs would win. You can't give a team like the habs who are composed of a bunch of lunch pail players a hope of coming back. You can't.

Also, with the way Price is playing, I really wouldn't be surprised if he posts a shutout tonight. He may play very nonchalant for stretches in the regular season, but he's ridiculously good in the POs, especially in elimination games. He gets better with every elimination game.

If it was already hard to score on him without deflections, it will be even harder now.

Muzzin out is a way bigger loss than Tavares. That one is gonna sting. Funny because leaf fans where happy to let this series go on longer to heal up Tavares

Expecting both teams to come out guns blazing. First goal will be huge. Think the leafs are more likely to just full on unravel but really feels like a 50/50 game despite the Vegas odds (which still has Toronto as over 2:1 favorites).

The two greatest words in sports - "Game Seven" ain't gonna lie I got a sinking feeling for this one, I feel like the leafs may finally slay their playoff demons tonight and pull off a first round victory. Hopefully it's just my nerves getting the better of me and my habs prove me wrong. (for the record I did pick the habs in 7 before the series started) Either way, proud of my boys no matter what happens. Here's to a great game! The whole country is watching!

Leafs win 6-1. Matthews Scores a Hatrick, Marner has 1 goal and 4 points, Hyman is good for 1 goal 2 points. Spezza finally scores on a breakaway, Montreal breaks Campbell shutout with a fluky goal from a bounce off the stanchion.

Alright, fun time is over kiddos, the big boys will ice it tonight in style.

But only after letting the Habs do just enough to make sure Bergevin keeps his job.

Countering this with a 5-2 Habs win. Leafs will be shellshocked, Canadiens will bombard Campbell with shots and he'll break early, they'll attack Sandin's side, knowing it's like extra cheese curds/gravy on the poutine.
If the Leafs win this, it will be absolutely huge, if the Habs win, they were the calmer, steadier team throughout.

550 front line workers will witness dreams dying right before their eyes. Haven't they suffered enough?

Compared with what they've witnessed over the last year, this'll be a breeze.

Even if the Habs flatten Toronto tonight, it'll be a welcome break from their usual job.
