ROTY issues...Panarin vs.McDavid

i saw a 5 or 6 man panel on NHL Live the other night. All hockey announcers. All said Panarin would get it. And that the current NHL rules made that an almost sure thing. If you want someone else to win, you've got the change the rules, they all agreed. I agree with them . . . or they agree with me. It's Panarin. Unless he asks to withdraw from consideration (he's said that he doesn't consider himself a rookie).

Call me crazy, but I feel McDavid will be a better player than Panarin in the long run.

Panarin should win this year.

Offensively, next to Kane, McDavid is already right there as best in the NHL as far as I'm concerned.... but that injury pretty much eliminated him for the Calder. Unless Panarin completely falls off, the trophy should be his.
McDavid is a phenom. No question of that.

It's definitely unfortunate, but I think he'll help them become relevant again.

If Edmonton actually drafted well with all the gifts they received and signed the proper UFAs, they'd easily be relevant.

The Oilers aren't helping themselves.
