my preference is going fir Rasmussen Andersen on Calgary. He has 3 full years after this year. The player picked in 2023 then replaces him ehrn his contract ends.

RA would be a great add, but I don't think Calgary has him on the block now. I'd be willing to send a good forward prospect in the package if he was. I would still like to keep Joki for depth.

ive looked at draft ranking orders on various sites. I don’t know much about players and their fit/ styles but it looks like there are many D in that 15-35 range. I won’t heavily focus on this till after buffalo knows where they are picking.

the one you mentioned he was in the mid 20s area

we don’t need to try and get one when they could pick 2 With their and trade up.
Reinbacher has been most lately discussed as a top ten-ish pick.

I like Rasmus Andersson also, but much like Matt Roy in LA, those teams are now in playoff contention and I don't see any reason why they get traded. Only Roy might be available possibly at the TDL or in the summer, if LA's young RHDs make him expendable.

I think Adams needs to focus on constructing another good line. He’s got Mittelstadt and Krebs to start. Larkin would be a huge completion of that.

And I don’t think Adams needs to trade anyone off the current roster to get a player like Larkin.

Lafreniere would be a huge add to this group. He can play a gritty game.

Me as well.
Laffy, Mitts, Krebs might work as well.

You didn‘t just say a top 4 dman. You said a 21/22yr old top 4 dmen with team control like Samuelsson.

Teams with those types of players aren’t looking to trade them. They're looking to build around them.

Its like you didn’t read my post all the way through.

1) I already said our top 3 dmen is a cheat code to build a good defense. They are Nieds, Pronger and Beauchemin 2.0. We also have a very good top 4 with Joker as our #4 because of them. Thats fine if you want someone other than Joker but it doesn‘t change that.

2) I know Johnson didn’t sign because I said it in my previous post. Him not signing and Laaksonen not working out are why we don’t have prospects as depth options in Rochester. Or prospects who could graduate to NHL next year.

I also posted that next year we should see one, possibly two, of Adam picks sign and play defense in Rochester. I don’t see them as depth options though. At least not the first half of the season.

The why is irrelevant. We need depth now. It's not a cheat code, it's a recipe for burnout. The Ducks had some veteran D-man in the 4,5,6 spots...way better players than Bryson, Fitzgerald and Clague. I get the Sabres have had injuries, they should have plugged a gap with one player. And who says you don't want a better 4th D-man than Ducks had after the big 3? You add a serious RD around 22 to this team on top of Jokiharju, and they will be so tough to play against.

Adams can fix this fairly easily, without doing any damage to the team in the long term.

Olofsson doesn’t really have a spot on the team anymore. There are defenders wasting away on bottom pairs, like Fabbro. This trade is one I’ve advocated for a while, but it doesn’t need to be that trade. Just a trade.

Olofsson for a D, preferably one that can play with Power. It’s a simple move to make.

What do you think of Fabbro vs Peeke? Availability vs cost vs player type and fit?

I trust your evaluation of players. The Sabres Pro P and nerds gave us Boosh...

Top teams in desirable destination cities.

Sabres trade for Lindholm at the TDL and he walks for Boston as a UFA. Sabres are out their 1st.

It sucks, but this team has to play by different rules.

I remember the same arguments for ROR

A comparison between ROR and Linholm is not really a fair comparison.

Lindholm was a 10 game TDL rental who made it clear he was not interested in signing up for a rebuild before being moved.

O'Reilly had a full year left, was acquired in the offseason, and his 7 year extension was announced a day-and-a-half after the trade.

One they knew they would re-sign before trading for. The other they knew would test the UFA market and they likely would lose.

Not sure how these are similar at all.

One I wasn't comparing him directly with Lindholm... he was brought up to counter the argument 5hat any player is just going to get up and walk out if traded to Buffalo. It's just false.

Second .. ROR was traded to Buffalo on June 26th 2015 and signed his extension on July 3rd 2015... not a day and a half later.

They had no knowledge he was going to re-sign

I don’t have a problem doing that. I’m not mortgaging the future. I’m fine doing it as two separate trades.

in a y deal for a D the team likely needs to send out a D like Bryson/ Fitz

deprnds on the ask. Not trading 2023 1st for them. Thrir prices will be higher because they are RD

i can’t recall if he was an RFA or under contract. If under contract in 15/26 he could not be signed till July 1.

Murray knew his agent well that he had an idea on a contract and him signing.

How can a team like Boston have 29 w and only 4 regular L . Think if Sabres Will be like this soon . Every game you watch you Either winn or take points almost and is very hard to beat

Peeke only got extended a few weeks ago. I can't think of any time a player signed a multi year extension and got moved on. Doesn't mean it's impossible, but for a team that's struggled to keep players in the past I can't see it.
