His salary this year is $2,250,000. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't any qualifying offer to him require a 10% raise? Not sure the Sabres (or any team really) wants a $2.5M 4th line penalty killer. He's good at it, but not really that good.
A $2,250,000 qualifying offer is required to retain the RFA rights of Tyson Jost. A two-way qualifying offer is permitted since Jost has not met both the games played and waivers requirements. The qualifying offer is equal to 100% of the previous contracts final season base salary because the salary was $1,000,000 or greater.
