2024-25 Prospects Thread: As We Wait For Alexander

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

So, speaking of questioning where we really are with Chicago….whats up with Gleb? He played 20 games in 2024 and had I think 2pts, then disappeared and I think there was talk of injury. I just checked and he’s getting credit for two games in late Feb early March with zero pts and again hasn’t played since.

He’s obviously not contributing much but do we have any idea about injury here?

FUS is officially being outscored by some dude named Skylar, also back to my original point. I know he’s still very young.

One of the things I am not a fan of is this NCAA loophole. It seems like teams aren’t as well and I wonder if this is one of the few contentious items in CBA talks…. Seems counter and unbalanced compared to other developmental paths that players drafted going to university and immediately becoming UFAs if they don’t like the team that drafted them for some reason just by holding out from turning pro and staying in school…

Obviously the player has to be good enough to call their shot and catch on somewhere else, and give up 3-4 years of development instead of making the show faster….

But this is a situation where Mecuri really could have made it and been an nhler with us potentially as soon as next season. He looked like he could be a good fit for us watching his games at UMass while also watching Morrow. Good at faceoffs, could be a good PKer…. Not a huge scorer but could chip in a few with how we play and decent linemates…

Ugh.. sucks…

I just saw a tweet the other day that Gleb has been shut down for the season due to injury.

not exactly prospects related, more former farm-hands related...

was checking some ahl stats, and our boy andrew poturalski is leading the league in scoring.

even better? number three is honest to god no sarcasm ahl legend chris terry. with 12 more points, he'll be top ten all time in ahl scoring. given he's still a top scorer, i'm guessing he won't hang 'em up any time soon, so good for him.

We've got a thread specifically for that. I find most things posted like the above interesting only because they are former Canes, not as stuff that's posted "around the NHL", or "AHL talk", etc.
