Did I miss rumors or actual news articles somewhere?
Other than Brindy doing Brindy things by sticking with a vet until there is no longer any doubt they can’t do it and it forces the issue (all wrapped up in how he felt he was treated late in his career after the injury), where did we get to the point of also giving up on PK?
We still have PK on a steal of a deal for $2M per for another 3 years. I would argue it is one of the best value deals for a goalie not on their entry deal in the league right now. Who else gives you a 1A/1B level of play and documented legit number of games played per season for that price for the next 3 years? Why are we talking about flipping him or trading him or replacing him? He isn’t perfect but is clearly still developing in a positive direction and over the past couple years showing more and more in the direction of being a legit #1 goalie and, when he plays regularly, he can get on some hot streaks and cover all the crazy high danger chances our d gives up.
Given how this org operates and how much of their entire strategy is finding excess value for each contract dollar, I can’t see them doing anything to give up the value proposition of the PK contract for the next couple years unless there is something official from the team about something behind the scenes?
