yes they need to fix that or at the very least only allow the max cap to be on the ice , So when Vegas injuries magically come back in the playoffs ,and they are over the cap they must choose which player will play not going over the cap , it would give teams some play as its players on the ice (20 players)

Vegas is how I wish the rest of the NHL operated, but they don't, which gives me the sads. The ruthlessness is incredible, the ambition even more so. At least the Canes actually did something close to that this year. I'm extremely excited for the postseason.

I'm not so sure we got bad style fits, we needed a few 50 ft guys last year, we sure as hell do this year as well. If Rod gets buy-in from Guentzel and Kuzy we just became the favorites to come out of the East pretty convincingly.

Grier is a terrible GM. That Sharks rebuild is going to take at least a decade.

If what is already out there is it, I have to say this was a pretty good week for the Canes.

Freddie is back
Acquired Guentzel
Acquired Kuznetsov
managed to hold onto Raanta, TDA, and Lemieux in waivers, which is good depth/grit for the playoffs
The only roster player we lost was Bunting, who struggled to fit in this year, and Guentzel is a huge upgrade over him.

And then on top of this, the Rangers didn't really do anything, the Devils are in a mini-rebuild mode, the Flyers didn't really do anything major, and while Florida did add Tank, they really could have done a lot more.

Have to feel pretty good about our chances in the East right now.

What do you expect from a GM who cared more about helping his former team out last year than actually taking the best deal on the table for Meier.
