could the Rangers be so blind and keep their rentals as a rental of their own and make a run or they will be dealt regardless of being 2 pts behind the wildcard or 10 points behind the wildcard???

According to Brooks a couple weeks back, no, it's sign or trade.

One possible future solution is that Nils Lundkvist moves to the left side with Trouba as his partner. I could see that...

Lundkvist - Trouba
Lindgren - Fox
Miller/Robertsson - ADA

Nasty...
Ok, so your "One possible future solution" scenario on defense does not include Skjei. Are you telling us something???!!! Will he be traded by Monday? To whom? What's the scoop?

This is nice to see.

and our 3 guys over 30: Staal, Smith, and (sigh) Henke are not part of the core going forward. That's another reason why i'd like to keep Kreider. Having him and Panarin as the elder statesmen. I'd also like to keep Strome even though a lot of people hate him for some reason. Strikes me as a real good locker room guy and leader. Definitely "A" material.

Reposting what @RangerBoy said in the last thread:

“Elliotte Friedman on the NHL Network. The Rangers will get a 1st round pick and a top prospect for Kreider. If the prospect is not a top prospect, the Rangers will get a 3rd piece likely another draft pick. Colorado, Boston, St. Louis, Islanders and the Caps.”

I’m fine aiming for a higher-valued prospect and a single pick than multiple pieces.

Wouldn’t even trade him if the package doesn’t include a top prospect.

I consider Wahlstrom’s ceiling much higher than Frederic, Kaut, Jost, etc’s People also seem to forget he was like the youngest player in that draft, he’s still only 19. Wahlstrom fits the player we’ve been lacking to a T. A greedy right handed sniper, plays a big heavy game. Islanders will also have a much higher pick than the other teams in the market for Kreider.

I think you take the best player/trade available regardless of what team it’s with, if you’re confident you’re winning the trade you’re actually making your division weaker then. I’d do Kreider for Wahlstrom & a 2020 1st, and by the sounds of things we may get even more than that.
