Speculation: Roster Building Thread XIII

Buchnevich to the Blues for Robert Thomas, #17th overall(#16)and Zach Sanford.

Thomas was compared to Bo Horvat in his draft year. They both played for the London Knights. Drury can't get Horvat for Buchnevich. Thomas?

Thomas is a group II with no arb rights. His contracts works for the Rangers cap situation. The Rangers can't pay everyone $10M per year.

STL also has a very strong asset in that Russian forward they drafted 1-2 years ago. His name escapes me now. But not sure if he fits into our plans. He was mentioned in relation to Puljujarvi a while back too.

This is pretty decent. 2 nhl players who will be cheap for a decent while and add different elements.

Really wanted McMichael or Tomasino before we lost that pick in the Trouba trade. didn't realize Tomasino ripped up the AHL last year.

I'd love this as well, but tbh it seems kind of lopsided in our favor.

If we get the Blues pick we're just one away from doing the 3 in a row gambit that worked so well for Boston that year!

The kid they drafted last year Neighbors looks good but he's years away, maybe Robert Thomas but I'm sure still they rate him very highly

that seems like a lot for Buch. I'd be thrilled though.

Klim Kostin is probably one of the only legit tough guys with actual upside in anyone's prospect system at this point

But he's had a few injuries, besides him being a mammoth fighter I don't know anything else about him lol
 
What's worrying to me is if Buchnevich is getting heavily rumored with some west coast team, like LAK or STL, then it gives me the vibe that Drury is gonna move Strome+Kakko in the Eichel deal. And I really hope Kakko doesn't get moved, there has to be a way we can get Jack without giving up Kakko

I would pull the trigger on that. Don't think the Blues would add their first...maybe their second?
Just checked they don't have their second this year.

I'm not seeing much of interest from either team. Too bad that Florida isn't on that list.

Why?

We have 3 NHL RW on the roster right now. Buch is one of them and Kravtsov (he of like 30 minutes of NHL experience) is the other along with Kakko.

Buch moving out would make it even less likely that Kakko is moved than he already is.
