I legitimately felt bad for Buffalo fans with all this nasty JE business so it was easy for me to dismiss the absurdities as denial, but i'm finding myself looking forward to the inevitable let down when they don't get any of these major prospects they think they will be getting MULTIPLE of.

Robert Thomas? I am game if Gourde can’t be had.
Kyrou is the other kid they have that’s a dynamic skater in a similar mold. I think a base for either one of them would be a good foundation for a trade.

This is how diluted the Sabers board is right now, pure lunacy. I feel bad for them.

"I’m bored here’s an idea. NYR adds more to us but it’s an interesting premiss.

Buffalo: Rossi, Kakko, 15th Overall (NYR)

NYR: Eichel

Minnesota: Zibanejad"

Robert Thomas? The Blues don't have much to trade.

Elliotte Friedman mentioned St. Louis and Nashville are very interested in Buchnevich. There are other teams too.

The Blues have a first rounder at #17. Really #16

Robert Thomas would be an excellent starting point.

From Nashville, Phil Tomasino would be an excellent starting point.

There’s a lot of smoke here.

Anyways on the topic of Seattle I do think there's a very very good chance they pick Blackwell, not Gauthier.

They are going to be able to run a very good team right out of the gate, and Blackwell has that utility knife type value in that he can be plugged into various roles and positions up and down the lineup.

Gauthier has that first round allure but realistically he's a soon-to-be 24 year old boom-bust prospect who is leaning in the bust direction. If my goal was to make a competitive Seattle team right out of the gate, Blackwell would be my easy choice.

I had STL as a suitor for Buch to replace Tarasenko (unless they got Landeskog) just don’t know what they have outside of ROR (not being traded), Kyrou or maybe Thomas.

This is something I’d be very interested in.

Yep lets keep our best net presence (CK) off the power play. You need someone to go in front of the net to cause havoc. Right now we have all guys that would rather play on the outside. Its hard to score goals when the goalie can visibly see everything. You need to add some net presence to all this skill otherwise we will be doing nothing but circling the net.
If you think Kreider is the only player that can stand in front of a net, you are mistaken. Laffy was 19 last season and had 10 months off of hockey. He's going to be the power forward we hoped for next season. And when he has the puck, he can make magic with it, unlike stonehands Kreider.

Not too worried anyways. GG is a great coach, and I trust him. Best players will play.

Kyrou would be great, but I don't see it.

I think Thomas is for sure attainable though.

Neither of those guys got the minutes in St Louis last season that they would get here, especially if they were brought in to replace Ryan Strome. Don't like that neither kills penalties, but between Goodrow, Rooney, Zibby, we have sufficient faceoff taking killers.

what if Dunn or Barbashev doesn’t go to Seattle?

1 plus Thomas as a package for Buch and a spare part like Hajek ?

Their board is going to be must read material in a few days.

I haven't seen that amount of delusion from a fan base maybe ever.

As someone who follows the Sens a ton. I swear I remember when Karlsson was on the verge of getting traded I saw Serg+ And Heiskanen + being thrown around. Idk man that’s close to as brutal of delusion lol

Edit: Actually… I’d say majority of Sabres fans expect their delusional return for Eichel. At least only a minority of Sens fans wanted that

Love Kyrou, but would STL really move him?

STL also has a very strong asset in that Russian forward they drafted 1-2 years ago. His name escapes me now. But not sure if he fits into our plans. He was mentioned in relation to Puljujarvi a while back too.

If we are getting the Robert Thomas of the 2019 Blues cup run sign me up!!! Gotta be honest didn't watch much of him this past year. He was Suzuki-ish during that cup run. Played like a vet. Certainly capable of being a decent 2c. Just scares me a bit that the Blues would give up on him.
