No its not. Hes a norris winner and the backbone of our defense. Lets stop trying to bridge our young core and sign these guys to LONG term deals. Fox has earned it and i want no part of him being able to leave UFA in his prime.
5 years isn't a bridge and I think the risk is incredibly minimal. Rangers are going to need to get creative in order to make things work, there is gonna be some risk involved but if in 5 years from now the guy who is playing for the team he grew up rooting for and living where all his friends and family live wants to leave we got way larger problems.

I laid it out a few pages ago, look at his points and how the drop in points relate to his drop in PP time and TOI in general. His possession numbers are solid and he can play RW or C. He’d be a nice stop gap on a 3 year deal if the Rangers were given something of value. He’s probably a 50 point player when given decent playing time and he’s tenacious on the puck.

I’m not trading anything I’d value for him but if TB wants to pay for the Rangers to take him…
A three deal deal is not a stop gap. Johnson is a terrible idea. If you are looking to acquire a 5m-ish player from the Lightning, there are better options; which is why he is the one that Tampa wants to move. He does not close to justify that contract any more.

He looked for a couple weeks like he might be the next brassard, but he is just not nearly skilled enough to play that style of game in North America

The bigger issue is that Brassard was willing to go to tough areas to make a play while Spooner prefer to stay away. No wonder he’s out of the NHL. I’m sure it’s not his fault and just as sure it’s Quinn’s. :sarcasm:

The problem with Greene is that his contract will be 35+ which means its going to count against the cap no matter what happens to the player. Probably looking to trade for a cheaper alternative. Bitetto?

Why is that a problem? He was a regular for them and would just be a regular again.

Does it matter? Are his words any less valuable because he was traded? What Spooner said was very eye-opening into how Quinn coached this team. Ignoring that because he's no longer on the team is foolish.

Does it matter??? Less valuable?? Yes and yes. The guy who’s bitter for no longer being in the NHL and who could point toward his Rangers tenure under Quinn when his career started going downhill. Same way I won’t put any value into Lias’ words when it comes to the Rangers or Quinn.

how about Strome?

Chris Drury singlehandedly ruined my weekend.

how about Strome?
I think Strome spoke for himself and Panarin. Quinn wasn’t able to exert his HC powers over star vets and this what created the final weeks chaos that ultimately cost him his job more than anything else. Any more questions?

Edit: what does it have to do with Spooner?
