Another finesse small defenseman is not what they need. Josh Brown or a physical 3rd pair is what they need. McNabb or someone like Schenn

Fixing the bottom 6 has a bigger impact on this team than replacing Zibanejad with Eichel does.

Well it's not a lock that Eichel would be replacing Zibanejad. But there's really not much they can do to "fix" the bottom-6 right now as it is. The 3rd line is basically set, and whoever you add on the 4th line isn't going to make a significant enough impact to compare to Eichel at all regardless of who he's replacing.

I dont see any reason to acquire Dunn at this time. There are other options. Maybe if this was last offseason I can see a reason to push for Dunn. But again there is a list of defenseman ahead of him:

Suter
Martinez
Oleksiak
McNabb

Heck even Yandle.

Go look at the playoff teams as far as the 4th line. Those line can change the tempo and recharge the rest of the bench.

Buch should go and Eichel is too costly. We anticipate Kakko and Laf being great so they will get into that $10 million range like an Eichel. You’re not paying about 4/5/6 players in that range in the near future (Zibby, Panarin, Laf, Kakko, Eichel, Fox).

With Buch gone Kakko is #1 and Krav is #2. Strome won’t be here after next season and could be gone shortly. Will Chytil move to #2 or out the door?

Line 3 is not set. Without grit nothing significant will happen in the playoffs besides an early exit.

If I had to trade one of Miller, Lundkvist or Schneider I’d walk away from the deal. I’m 0% interested in trading any of them unless it’s for a young, cost controlled high ceiling center. Think Zegras. Not Larkin. Not Eichel. Cost controlled high performing young players are beyond valuable.

Kreider still plays left wing on the 2nd wing with Kakko on the RW. Laf with Panarin
