I always thought it was funny that Kane and Panarin had chemistry in Chicago since they're basically the same player on opposite wings, with some minor distinctions (Kane's puckhandling)
I guess Anisimov must have just been a pure Jesper Fast presence.
2 players who "demand the puck" (a term we've heard a lot of especially in relation to Kanes adjustment) rarely work together.
I'm willing to guess that a MAJOR factor in their chemistry early was the shock factor of "who the hell is Panarin and why is he this good?" because he was a 25 year old rookie.
Also, as good as Kane is, for him to have everything going on with moving his family to NY, leaving Chicago after 16 years, and then on top of that to try and meet all these expectations of him and his chemistry with Panarin while also trying not to step on the other stars toes....yeah thats a lot going on even for one of the best.
MAYBE, it works down the stretch in wake of (god forbid) injuries or last ditch efforts in playoffs, but I think it was all too forced and expected by other teams to know that they are just going to try to find eachother at every chances.
Not in any means advocating for them to be back together, because I like our team with them on separate lines.
Love to see the Kids get going again in the Florida game. If that line is what they were last playoffs, along with the Motte-Goody-Vesey 4L and the currently constructed top 6, I LOVE our chances against any team in a 7 game series with our defense (with Lindgren/Mikkola back in their rightful spots) and especially with Igor.
