how much for all the Rangers prospects, including Kakko, and Laf being traded between now and July, Cheech, and the Rangers field the Hartford roster in 2021/2022, for the entire season.... that's how much Bergeron isn't leaving Boston

Wait, why are people talking about Eichel so much here again? Did I miss something? I dont want to read all that I missed lol

yes it is five assets but it gets the deal done imo

minn is the biggest target sleeper right now for jack and that is where i see him ending up unless nyr makes an aggressive play for him now, but we dont even know if they are still interested since the regime change.

I mean if you can get him without Laf, Kakko, Nils... you would have to consider that a win as long as he is healthy obviously.

Min not necessarily the most cap friendly for him and they have to re-up Kaprizov.

So Eichel doesnt want to be there. Now the Sabres want to move on from him. Plus the injury issues. Will be a very interesting deal to see happen.

They should get a solid deal for him, will always be someone looking for a center. CBJ is of course one team. There will be another team or two. A 1st, player and prospect? Laine? Anyway, I would be surprised if he was in our plans. Not matter what, I can’t see how we can afford him long term.

I hate to say it but I think any deal has to include Chytil. Plus one of the D prospects, and as I said before Buffalo has a bigger need at RD so Schneider/Nils, 15th overall obviously. I think we could see Geo thrown in there, he's still pretty damn young and while he struggled a bit last season should have value.

Perhaps another piece.

That's probably as good as the Sabres could hope to get at this point. 3 potential building blocks and a mid-first this year. That being said, I think if the Rangers give that up then they'd want some sort of role player or change of scenery prospect back as well. I could see Thompson being a fit there but that's a hell of a lot of money coming our way in one trade without much going back out.

Plus, the amount of follow up moves that deal would trigger are kind of hard to wrap my brain around. It'd sure be a lot of excitement but if it goes sideways it could be a train wreck.

guerin has wanted a center upgrade since the moment he got there. I think he will be aggressive to move salary to make space. i really think people are sleeping on that as an option

ah yeah I heard the Kings were "out" and said that in here yesterday.. Will be interesting what kind of return they can get if the Kings are out
at the end of the day it only takes one team to go looney to bail buffalo out of this mess, and two teams getting in a bidding war to help them.

that being said i think the return will be moderate, but not earth shattering. if we are actually still in this and can get him without moving any elite assets at all than i view that as a moderate cost. yes there is risk, but the upside is tremendous.

The problem with Martinez or Oleksiak is term. You are going to end up up going two (or more likely three) years. Then you end up blocking younger players. Martinez would be a nice addition but for my money Oleksiak is a stiff. I’d much rather make a short term addition and if they prove to be that valuable, extend them.

I agree, it’s hard to know what the market will be, but look there are spots we can fill on the roster with players that we underpay for and there are spots on the roster that will be hard to fill if it’s not at a high cost. Finding a 6th LD that can drop the gloves and get by cheap, yeah it’s not like anyone would fall of a chair if we managed that.

I think its going to be tough to do so in the flat cap world where the other teams know you need to move money in order to make this trade happen and sign Kaprizov to a likely 7 mill + deal. They also have Rossi on the way. Plus if they want this done sooner rather than later that is going to be harder to do for them as opposed to a team that can very comfortably fit him in now.

Minnesota has incentive to get Eichel before the expansion draft. They'll almost certainly lose Dumba to Seattle unless they make a trade beforehand. Dumba, Dahlin, and Power isn't a bad start for your D group next year if you're Adams.

i agree but honestly all a team needs to do is eat an asset to convince seattle to take on a contract. yes it is a flat team cap, but the league is gaining 80+ million in cap space with seattle coming in. Francis should be working with Adams to say if you find a team that will pay you for JE but needs cap space we can help facilitate that cap space at a cost.

That is one scenario that just makes sense for all parties honestly.
