I'd pass on both. I want no part of Strome at any price & no interest in being locked in to Copp long term.

Even at a 4.5 cap hit re-signing Strome is tough. That's a good price for your 2C and Strome is clearly an important leader in the room, but do they really want to lock in to him for 6 seasons? We're committing to the next few contending years with him as our 2C and a permanent fixture on PP1 no doubt. Can't say I'm a big fan of that even if it would be a discount from Strome.

One thing on Panarin though is that I do think he fits best with a RH center. Him and Strome clearly have chemistry but man, I can't say I'd be thrilled with locking in to Strome as part of the core. I really think we just need a different style of player there to add more diversity to the lineup.

Paul? He checks every box with faceoffs, defense and size. Also allows chytil to run free in the top 6. The years are highly concerning but if it’s an AAV in the 3s, idk. I could be convinced

Pass on both Copp and Strome. If Bergeron is only willing to sign in Boston, How about Giroux for 1 year? Panarin Giroux Vatrano would be great second line. Occasionally Chytil would replace Giroux

I'm confused. Why do people think Chytil can be a C, let alone be the 2C? He has tunnel vision on the ice, isn't the best back checker and is not a good distributor of the puck.


Honestly, I'd bank more on Laf at C than Chytil despite Chytil having experience at C and Laf lacking it.

I dunno if we can get him for cheap enough but I think Eric Comrie would be a good backup but I'm guessing he'll get priced out of our range and end up somewhere willing to give him a lot of term.

I think if you have wingers who play like centers it could work.

Panarin - Chytil - Kravtsov

The vision and creativity of Krav and Panarin would more than makeup for Chytil’s lack, he could just be a puck retrieving hard worker who uses his speed to create space for them to work their magic.

He's only played 28 NHL games, I hope he isn't expecting anymore more than 1.25 million.
