He may be a little vanilla but he was extremely effective. When I look at chytil I don't see a 2c bc I don't think he has the offensive iq. He has the skills but not the mind for that. He would be a fantastic 3c that could play up in the lineup for injuries IF he can finally improve his faceoffs and keep growing his d game.

Realistically chytil has been more of a victim of stroke's deficiencies than anything bc if either of our top centers were good faceoff men than it doesn't highlight the issues with chytil at the dot, but bc your top 2cs were both offensively skilled guys that struggled at the dot and one in particular struggled in the d zone it just puts more pressure on the 3c to differentiate himself and not share the same flaws. That's part of the need for lineup diversity. How they go about replacing strome will have a bigger affect on this lineup than I think most people realize.

I think Chytil might be a good fit as Panarin’s center, especially if his two-way game continues to round out. He’s good on the wall. He can hound the puck. And probably the most important thing for Panarin’s line, he likes to shoot the puck. Panarin needs a shooter and not another passer like Strome.

Chytil needs to improve on faceoffs, continue to improve his shot, and continue to round out his game, and he can be a good complimentary player to Panarin or another creative winger.

If there is a way to get 10, 93, and 20 to beg to be put together (not that we should want them to) this is it.

If Chytil is gonna be his center then we need to trade the farm for TyJo. Send Chytil all the Anisimov tapes in the world.

The prospect of bringing Strome back makes me ill. Here’s what I’m hearing and seeing:

1. He likes playing here. (I bet you do, you owe this organization for saving your sorry cherry-picking career). By association with the line that he fell into, Strome thinks he’s a big shot. Lots of smiles and jokes. Easy PP time, 50 empty points, having a grand time making 5.5M++ for a .500 team

2. Panarin likes going to bars with him. Fantastic. Oh, and karaoke. This is 180 degrees from the hungry player we added in FA. Was #10 hurt? Probably. I can’t fathom he played the past few months healthy because he doesn’t resemble the upper tier player that he was (past tense). You think Strome helps bring out the best? Or absolute worst? Hint - Easy answer.

3. Strome is the least defensively responsible player on the ice. He’s interested in finishing an empty netter in a 5-3 game. That’s him.

4. We are married to #10, who is showing signs of steep regression. If there wasn’t an injury (and I’m not hearing of a real diagnosis), Strome further enables this stick waging primadonna act - Kill this duo, now.

Addition by subtraction. This isn’t even a question.

I just hope Drury sees these things...

I can’t do it. I can’t watch Strome be fed PP1 and top 6 minutes for another 5 years. I won’t.

HOLD MEE NOWWWWW, I’m 6 FEET FROM THE EDGE AND IM THINKINNNNNNNNNN

MAYBE 6 FEET AINT SO FAAAAAHHHH DOOOWNNNNN
I’ve told people that I’ll stop being a fan if they resign Strome. I mean, I won’t, but I totally will.

Please don’t put me through this.

Perfectly summarized.

We already have Goodrow. Paul will get paid. Rather build within, Lets sign more expensive 4th liners and become the Islanders
He’s also good buddies with Goodrow apparently. And played for Canada last year at the WC under Gallant. He is exactly the shutdown center we should be looking for and he’s been much more than a 4th liner this playoffs. He also drew a penalty and scored since the original post lol

So, everyone is just realizing what I've been telling you all along. Copp will price himself out....Strome will take a discount and price himself in.

I don’t want him back but you have to feel for the guy. No one is giving him a long term deal coming off potential hip surgery. There were enough questions about him as is.

Butt cised. Synergy with bread. RH shot in the bumper spot. Assistant captain. Discount contract? I repeat, butt cised.

Goodrow and Paul played in junior for two years. Paul played with Zibanejad in Ottawa. They had a discussion during the handshake line. Paul wants Goodrow's contract in free agency.

If the Rangers had Cirelli, they win the Cup.

Rangers would do well to find the next Paul or Cirelli. Paul is enticing because he’s what we’re looking for but I wouldn’t give him the years he wants

I know nothing about Dach but this seems like a lateral move at best

Big body goes to the net. Bad on the draw but is young and can improve.

Swapping 2ed and 3rd overall picks from the same draft but both fill a need. I dont mind this. I proposed this a few days ago. This would be a good move for both teams. Center depth is a need on this roster.

So Sean Monahan just had a 23 pts season for Calgary?

He's got bad hips, and this is the second time he's having major hip surgery in the last three years. This is from the Flames beat writer for the The Athletic, Hailey Salvian, at the beginning of April. He's shot.

What does this mean for Monahan?

Hailey Salvian, Flames beat writer: It’s another injury in a long list that have impacted Monahan’s career. In addition to last year's hip surgery, he had wrist surgery in the summer after the 2016-17 season. And four separate surgeries after being shut down in 2017-18.

He’s played through and come back from a lot since establishing himself as the Flames' 20-goal guarantee. Those injuries have started to look like they’re slowing Monahan down in recent years.

In terms of what’s next? That’s surgery, recovery and rehab. General manager Brad Treliving made the point that he will have plenty of time to be 100 percent for training camp.

Blais is cost-prohibitive for Toronto. The benefit of Robertson is him only costing $800k against the cap, on top of his underrated game and fantastic AHL scoring. If Toronto is smart, he gets a significant role for them next year and they let him turn into their next version of Michael Bunting.

It hurts our LD depth, but if Toronto is serious about moving Sandin, I'd look into a Matt Robertson for Nick Robertson swap. This draft has a ton of defensive depth, and we could find a good prospect or two falling into the middle rounds.
