I won’t pretend I’d have the cap situation sorted, but I’d be very interested at taking a run at Bill Karlsson. Taking a shot at another Danault type would be a good thing for this team.

I’ve changed my tune on Ryan Strome completely, but re-upping him for the money, term, and protection he’ll command could be crippling. Karlsson’s a good, responsible player with a nice contract that could mesh very well with Panarin.

I'll give them young assets if they are forced to hire David Quinn next year. Put it in the trade clause somewhere.

Seems like they aren’t limiting themselves to rentals and wil let the chips fall where they may with Strome in the off-season. Risky I think it’s worth it to make a run with him +another top 6 guy this year. Nils+Kravtsov+a pick is a package that could get them a difference maker

Now that Giroux might be available, and if the price is remotely reasonable, I’d say he should be the primary target.

This team is a contender when Goodrow slots in at 4C. He is certainly good enough to play up some but his puck skills scream 4th line.

I think it comes down to what they feel they need more, Goalie or another position. They don’t have a ton of cap space. They also don’t have their 1st, 2nd, or 4th round picks this year. They don’t have their 2023 4th rd or their 2024 3rd rounder. So I think they have one big move to make. Unless they want to mortgage more of the future and I am not sure Sakic will do that.
