I really dont know if we could afford Giroux. What does his next deal look like is what it comes down to.
Why can’t NYR be one of those teams to get an old guy to play for minimum? The guy has made almost $80M over his career. Does he want shot at a cup and not have to move his family? $1M per and like it.

hopefully Kravtsov is eliminated first round. swept.

He would be contracted to come back on recall but does he go to Hartford to wait out a trade or actually play ?

he really would enter the top 6 and chants Drurys placed w the depth chart improving

Does this mean Kravtsov will be back with the Rangers this season?

San Jose is (rightfully) not trading Eklund. They hit the jackpot with that pick and have no reason to move him at all
Yeah sounds right. When I saw that Hartford signed Matt Lorito and realized that he played this year on the same Swedish team that Eklund is playing for it put me into the wishful thinking mode.
San Jose brought him into for the 9 game stint this year and now he is back as an 18 year old in Sweden.
Maybe they weren’t impressed in what they observed or don’t believe his style of play can transition over to the NHL. Or maybe their scouts are overwhelmed by one or more of our prospects and are willing to make a move.
Like I said wishful thinking.

Or maybe they didnt want to burn the first year of his contract as he gains more man strength.

Was gonna say, 18 y/o getting his ass kicked on a bad team 5000 miles from home is a little rough.

Not sure if I think about it that way, in terms of guts, as if it would be a risky, brave move.

Vitali wouldn't plug up any holes we currently have with needed effectiveness, wouldn't fix any leadership issues we *may* have, and probably wouldn't even be a good showcase for a trade in terms of ice time and performance. I would think not calling him up would be the default best move.
Making a move that acknowledges he may have handled a personnel situation wrongly takes guts, and I don’t think Drury has that in him.

Well, only if he thinks he handled it wrongly would that apply.

It is thinking like this that will never make us any better. How much more of Chytil do you need to see to realize he is not only far from a 2C but I don't think he is a center period. Does not have the vision or skill to play the position. It is like beating a dead horse. I struggle even giving him the time on a 3rd or 4th line even on the wings.
He’s been consistently hitting close to 25 points every year he’s been in the league playing 3rd/4th line minutes at center. And he really hasn’t been given much of an opportunity to win the 2C spot. Outside of maybe a dozen games it’s been Strome since he got here.

You saying you wouldn’t give a 22 year old forward, who at worst is going to give you 20 points, any minutes on the 3rd/4th line is way more absurd than anything I said lmao

you’re probably the type of person that bitched about giving Buchnevich minutes when he was that age and now he’s close to a PPG player

We are talking Chytil not Buch. He is deficient in so many aspects of the game including defense. The coaching staff sees it that is why they sat him a few games this year. He is not a 1/2 year player. We are in year 4 and he has really shown nothing. You earn opportunities by playing well in games as well as practice. The coaches are not impressed and they would know.

You are probably the one that claimed he was a stud number 2 center before the season started.

Golfing year round is also a nice feature .
My thoughts exactly. These guys finish practice and then go play a quick 18 before they have to pick up the kids. As much of a clown show that that org is, if you had me choose between the two I'm packing my shorts and going to Scottsdale without a second thought. Worse comes to worse you're playing in Houston in a year or two.

Chytil being deficient on defense is an interesting thought. Apparently according to a graph I saw Chytil is trusted the most to play with a tight lead.

Jeff Gorton was rumored to really like Gauthier for a while. He’s one of those big young forwards who appears to be getting better slowly but his underlying numbers are pretty good. Still young and very much cost controlled but probably needs an opportunity where he can play top-9 minutes regularly and PP2. This is a kid who proved he can score A LOT in the AHL at 22 and his physical tools translate well, we can already see that.

I know people like to crap on him because he doesn’t score enough for the chances he creates but many teams will look at that as a positive sign in that he is already doing the hard part, creating chances.

I truly think Gauthier ends up in Montreal and Lehkonen ends up in NY. Fits both teams needs. Lehkonen comes in to be the other member of a really solid 2-way 3rd line and he is another Finn to be around Kaako. Sign him to a medium term deal which they can fit. The Rangers have 2 2nd’s. Flip one of them with Gauthier for Lehkonen. Maybe Gorton wants one of his other kids he has liked for a while like Reunanen or Gettinger to get it across the goal line.
