I am ok with Jarnkrok. Even ok with Marcus Johansson if he is cheap.
Both are upgrades. Johansson is certainly not one of my favorites but Rangers could really stand to upgrade the team speed. Not familiar on if Jarnkrok does that but Johansson certainly does. Avalanche are up there with the cup favorites for good reason and the Rangers aren’t on that level yet, but it showed Rangers can’t keep up with that pace.

Lighten up jerk. The numbers are right. You make of them what you will. But if you attack people like you just did, I will eat you for breakfast and spit out the chewy parts in a volcano
Oh yeah. BTW we are 2-0 against Tampa and 1-1 versus Florida. Maybe we aren't as good or deep but we can compete with them. These numbers are right also. Hopefully you can debate using facts instead of insults.

How about Antoine Roussel and Radek Faksa to NYR for the playoffs? He is the type that can draw penalties, agitate and play a physical game and Roussel also will improve the team speed and Faksa also has grit and wins faceoffs.. Roussel can play center and winger.

Faksa to NYR for Tarmo Reunanen and Blues 2ed
Roussel to NYR for 4th in 2022

I hope for Radek Faksa and Antoine Roussel at the trade deadline.

“I really dislike when people throw out these stats without knowing what they are talking about.”

Brother, However I Have Wronged You, Whatever I Have Done That Has Led You To Do This, I Am Truly Sorry...

Which in my opinion is that if Shesty goes down, so do the Rangers.
We have a few positional single points of failure. Shesty is one. If Fox went down, maybe if only Trouba went down, we’re toast. If Zib or Panarin is out, we aren’t making it past the first round. We don’t have the necessary depth to compete in the playoffs.

Another stat someone throws out there without truly looking behind the numbers. Where we have struggled is against the top teams in the West. Specifically Vegas, Colorado and Calgary. You back out those losses and we are 8-4-1. Big difference right? Point is we can compete with the East and make a run in the playoffs. I really dislike when people throw out these stats without knowing what they are talking about.
Yeah, I mean if you move the goalposts far enough you can make any argument...

Tampa doesn't win without Vasy. The problem isn't the reliance on the goaltender... It's at the rate he's been off the ice that's worrying.

Which should make some of us appreciate the durability that was Lundqvist. The guy was a horse that could carry the load. If we're winning a Cup with Shesterkin, he's going to have be a goalie like that as well.

My gut feeling is Roussel is a NYR at the deadline. He would fit this team, improve team speed, be a pest in the playoffs.
Rangers and Coyotes have history of making trades

i thought Rousell was on the decline ? I don’t see many Yotes games though

I've been watching the Rangers and playing hockey since the late 70's and I'm not sure that I've ever seen a Rangers team with as stellar a record as this resulting in next to zero belief by a majority of fans. It's really interesting.

I mean, I'm enjoying it. This is young/young-ish team that's figuring out how to win. I don't think all of the pieces are there yet to make a real deep run but I do like what I'm seeing.

Like SUSTAINABLE
See, here's your problem, you believe that a team that is horrible 5 on 5 is going to make it in the playoffs. They aren't. This team lives and dies with the PP and goaltending - and that's the mark of a team that's a first round exit.

And also, it hasn't been sustainable, just like I said. When I started saying that, they were in the middle of a 7 game winning streak. They followed that up by going 8-7-1, which is .500. They started playing better teams and the better teams took it to them. Their largest win streak has been 3 games. This also includes barely beating teams like Arizona and Buffalo. The way they were winning wasn't sustainable. So, I was right, and you were wrong.

There's literally no goalpost moving with that argument either, it's just a straight fact that is borne out by the underlying numbers, the actual numbers and the eye test.

If the Rangers beat Toronto and Carolina this week, it will go a long way. But the fact that you think that this team doesn't have to be better is mind boggling. The players and coaches themselves have said it.

i think it can be looked at 2 ways. first, which everyone will agree, we are screwed without Igor. second, its really hard to judge our ability to compete with the top teams when the way the schedule has played out almost half those games have been without igor. therefore there is alot TBD in the games against those teams the rest of the way

He has 3 goals in 32 games and 47 PIM. On pace for 8 goals if goes on a little streak. He is still a good bottom 6 in my opinion. Players have their down years. Had 31 points only 4 years ago. He has been hurt last year.

The NYR are pretty objectively being carried by goaltending and special teams. Their 5v5 play is near the bottom of the entire NHL.

Goaltending = we've seen that movie before. Special teams become less relevant in the POs due to fewer penalties being called.

Not surprising at all people are skeptical of this team.
