Producing in the AHL is not necessarily a good thing, you need a certain mentality to produce there. It is kind of a scrub league. Kravtsov produces more at the higher level he plays. That’s how special players are, they have that it factor. Barron is on the same level of player as those AHL guys, Kravtsov is so far ahead them that he can’t read players who are that bad. It’s like if Kravtsov was running a race on a track, he’s so far ahead that he’s lapped them and now looks like he’s behind. Gauthier produces in the AHL too, yet couldn’t score a goal in the NHL if his life depended on it.
I don't really get where you're coming from. Granted, I won't have watched as much of Kravtsov as most on here due to timezones and all that, but he hasn't looked out and out amazing at all. What are you seeing that I (and evidently the Rangers FO) am not? As far as I can tell, the only time in his career he's consistently produced at a high level is that playoff run he had with Traktor in the year we drafted him.
