Speculation: Roster Building Thread - Part XXVI

From everything that just went down with a Krav, it doesn’t surprise me that they are delaying his call up. He’s obviously better then McKegg.
What happens if Barron comes up and plays great for 4-5 games while Strome is out.
Strome comes back and now you have potentially created another kravtsov situation with a pissed off barron who doesn’t really want to go back to the AHL.
Barron and Kravy are on opposite ends of the spectrum character wise imo, but this isn’t a time where drury feels like rocking the boat right now.
If this happened in a month or so, I think Barron would have got the call up

That’s a good thing, if Barron plays that great then you keep him up and send down Hunt if Blais can play. Unlike Krav, Barron can play on the 4th if need be

Trouba, Panarin, Strome, Kreider, Zibanejad are all betas. Nice guys that'd apologize to you when you bump into them and spill their coffee. Can't win with that. No wonder why Gallant couldn't find a Captain. Then we have a nice guy like Gallant as well. Vigneault might have been a jerk and Torts a hot head but they had guts. We have a bunch of stars that forced their way to NY and want the good life and the big contracts and no one to be a winner on the ice regardless of the goal scoring or point production. We need Laf and Kakko to take over the leadership on this team. They have some attitude and cockiness. They've already shown it. Embarrassing we still threw Panarin-Strome and Kreider-Zibanejad out there for OT. The time to win is when Laf and Kakko take over leadership of this team and Gallant needs to step aside and let them do that.

It’s still going to mess up the rotation I assume. I do think whenever Barron gets the call, that’s the end of his Hartford days for good though..

Betas? sportmanship is considered weak? By that definition is Adam Fox a beta too?
This team is definitely overhyped but the 3 players that are far from the issue are Fox, Panarin, and Shesterkin. Kakko and Laffy have some attitude and cockiness? I think they are playing more timid and coughing up the puck too easy. (more so laffy, kakkos not nearly as bad).

Trouba is definitely not a beta. Idk what you’ve seen that indicates that. He screams frat bro that can back his shit up. The rest I somewhat agree with, although Kreider has played very tough this year and he can maul nearly anyone in the NHL

Maybe. As long as we have problems with our veterans, we shouldn't even be talking about Kakko and Laf.

A line, where he isn't expected to be the forecheckerer for the puck, the first guy to go in and win puck battles only to distribute the puck to Panarin, who then passes it to Strome, who loses it. And now Kakko has to be the first guy back, because Panarin and Stome sure as hell won't defend for shit.

Kakko is being used as a more skilled Jesper Fast at the moment. It shouldn't be like that. I pray to God Chytil uses his chance tomorrow, and we never see Strome with Panarin again.

Even if Chytil put up 4 points tomorrow playing with Panarin Strome would be right back on that line next game.
Even if Laf or Kakko look really good along the right wall on the pp1 next game right back to Stromer

I'm talking about the kind of gusto it takes to rough up a homeless man for getting your dress shirt dirty under an overpass. Kucherov was an unapologetic drunk even after winning back to back cups. The Stars made the Cup Finals off of Jamie Benn refusing to go down on a woman and Tyler Seguin refusing to stop doing ESPN body issues and underwear sponsorships. Crosby wins over and over again and lives breathes eats hockey. He's the most famous hockey player in the world and one of the most successful and wealthy too but he refuses to get married due to his love of hockey. The Sharks made the Cup Final off of Evander Kane's truculence and foul attitude and perseverance that in the face of countless gambling debt claims and woman who may have been pregnant with his offspring and got abortions, enabled him to say, "no, I refuse to pay". Even young players around the league like Jack Hughes who had a big showing tonight asked a woman to flash him her breasts mere months after he was drafted at the age of 18. When was the last time Chris Kreider asked a woman to flash him her breasts? We need red blooded Americans. We have a lot of real quality humans on the team but we lack assertive attitudes and personality to lead us through the ice and the fire. Someone who isn't afraid of tipping 5% when the service just wasn't that good. Someone like Henrik who had the best hair and looks in the league on just a $20 barber shop hair cut he stumbled into one day. The personalities are too mild in the room. No one to flip the script by grabbing the game of hockey by the neck. We had two psychos on the team last year but both were exiled. The top of our leadership group and of our core needs more Laffy's cockiness and Kaapo's no nonsense this is mine and I'm going to take it attitude.

Alexis Lafreniere was a significantly better prospect than Jack Hughes and Kakko had a good amount of #1 overall votes from scouts. We do need to worry about developing our guys because we’ve killed their confidence. If LaF and Kakko were drafted by nearly any other organization they would be at least .5 PPG players. Even Eichel put up 50+ in his rookie season with Buffalo
