NHL Rumor Mill – October 14, 2021 | Spectors Hockey

What purpose could it possibly serve to leak information to Carp suggesting that Kravtsov had a bad camp and butted heads with Drury? It certainly wont increase his trade value. Do they want to force Kravtsov's hand and compel him to report to Hartford? Why wouldnt he just exercise his KHL clause?

This is a gallery of blunders.

I do not think he has an out clause for this season, was just for last year.

Yet if he were waiver eligible, I highly doubt they would have waived him.

To me, it's odd, every team out there probably has some players/prospects who are difficult to deal with. I don't think all of those teams would deal with them in this way.

Sure they probably get angry, I assume they try to explain their reasoning, they may even scratch them to get their point across and ultimately they try to trade them. Yet this move did not do the Rangers any favors. It's not like the next difficult player is going to be like, they are re-assigning me to the AHL, I better just go because if not they will drag me through the mud. If that were the case VK would have seen that already with Lias and DeAngelo.

Edit: I should also add, this move did not do VK any favors either, he should have just went down and played well.

Yet making it a lose/lose situation still is not really what I would like to see the Rangers strive towards.

Kinda getting the feeling that the Rangers don't intend to move him and they let his camp explore trade options so he can see how much other teams value him when he's acting like this.

Tail between the legs to Hartford for a few weeks would be the best outcome. Or a trade for an equal center prospect.

The air around this team is just bad for the last 3 years now. Something is wrong somewhere. Lias, Deangelo, Krav, JG and JD, no effort in the bubble/stretch run against Isles/Wilson thing, this first game. Man, what the f***?

Is there a Russian mob element in Hartford?

Yes, Teddy KGB has a place near there...

The interesting part will come in a few weeks.

At a certain point, the rangers will need to get this kid playing again. I assume they agree to just loan him back to his KHL team?
Think it’s pretty obvious that it’s Rangers or trade for this situation to work this season. Sending him back to Russia may help in the long term (like Puljujarvi) but I doubt it. And the more time he spends in Russia, the lower his value gets.

Ideally, his agent fishes for a deal only to find out no one is really interested in paying a reasonable price…and then both sides mend the situation well enough to either get him in the lineup or in the AHL sooner than later. It benefits no one to have Vitali sit on his ass for months on end waiting on a solution.

No. One game into a season (and you technically didn’t even wait that long) is far too early to determine the success or failure of moves made over the summer. You’re entitled to a different opinion on that matter but I won’t agree with it.

I'm quite sure you don't even agree with your own opinion yourself.

Can the Rangers get in on taking Shaw's contract from Chicago just for the asset?

Use the cap space for something positive at least.

Laf Zibs Kakko
Panarin Chytil Blais
Kreider Strome Gauthier
Goodrow Rooney Reaves

Lindgren Fox
Jones Trouba
KAM/Nemeth/Lundkvist

change the dynamic of the lineup.

I don't agree. If a player doesn't make your team, you don't keep him around the rest of the squad just cause he might complain. You might do it in a short stint. But that kind of attitude doesn't sit well with your teammates either. And it doesn't sit well with team building. I don't think sending him down for a conditioning stint should have been a big deal. It isn't to 98% of the league.

They are hockey players, I'd venture to guess pretty much every locker room has someone(s) who are complaining about something, or causing some sort of conflict within the room. I don't know if there is ever an ideal 22-23 man roster where at least someone is not attributing to poor team building.

From an asset management point of view, maybe we could use Duclair as an example?

I mean, that's a fair point.
