This isn’t indicative of anything but interesting to see the guys the Rangers drafted later in the 1st round of the 2017 and 2018 drafts making an impact sooner than the guys drafted in the top 10

Why are we comparing Krav to Gaut? Gaut is a spare part on the big club, and a talent like Krav will never be that.

Blais showed his clearly a middle six guy. Hunt earned a fourth line spot and is perfect there. With that there is no place in the lineup for Krav.

For Krav to get in the lineup he has to outplay or replace due to injury/trade one of Zib, Laf, Kreider, bread, strome, kakko, or maybe chytil. In other words he has to replace a skill guy. The rangers can't just keep throwing mismatched offensive talent in their bottom six and expect to win. Blais and hunt...roony and Reaves...are better there.

Gaithersburg has drawn multiple penalties by his rushes..has pushed defenses back with his speed.

he’s been much better than kravtsov.
Kravtsov drew a penalty and one of Gauthiers was a make up call for a missed penalty on Kravtsov moments earlier. That game was also horribly reffed, go back and read the GDT, people were saying where’s the call on Kravtsov?? Kravtsov also got slashed in the hand with no call in the same game. Remember someone else absolutely tackled Kravtsov and people were complaining about that missed call too. Refs calling a penalty is your argument for why he outplayed him? Kravtsov scored unlike him. All Gauthier does is crash the net and throw the puck away

Krav would even be better in a bottom role than Gauthier, Kravtsov plays defense. Gauthier plays like he’s the size of Johnny Gaudreau

after this team got bodied physically in an embarrassing fashion like 1/4 of the games last year I find it sort of amazing people are upset over actually utilizing a fairly flexible roster in one of its possible configurations. but muh first round picks.
Here my take for game 1 against the Caps....

Don't be predictable in regards to "payback" against Wilson. Reaves, Tinordi, Goodrow, Blais, Hunt, should zero in on the skilled Caps players all throughout the first half of period 1. Hard clean hits. Maybe a push or glove rub after the whistle.

Make Wilson come to you. He will.

Target Backstrom, Kuznetsov, Carlson, Oshie etc. Wilson's short fuse will give us PP's in the first. Try and get him to lose his shit.

THEN, if we are up in the second by a goal or 2, Ryan can give him a tap on the skates and invitation to dance. Hopefully with Wilson stuck in the box with Reaves, our other grit guys can punish their skill players making it the real payback.

Point is don't go on the PK trying to make your point with Wilson.. The refs are waiting to make early and often calls against the Rangers for initiation.

My goal is for Backstrom and Carlson to walk into the lockeroom after the game and look at Wilson like " Dude, you f**ked us good with those shenanigans with Panarin". Thanks ass***e."

I can’t see Kravtsov responding well to being demoted back to the AHL. It’s the reason why he left to Russia in the first place.
Same. Hopefully they explained it to him so it made sense. Something like "You're not 100% fit yet, we don't want to risk you aggravating your injury vs Washington, it's going to be super physical. So we sent you down temporarily while we work some trades for some players we don't want to lose for free on waivers".

Agreed but again, why are we comparing him to Gaut. Gaut isn't making the lineup. Who does Krav replace in the current 12?

I hope they move Kreider, but that feels like a pipe dream at this point. Losing Kravtsov and Buchnevich due to that shitty contract will be a tough pill to swallow. And the worst part is it was never good from the day it was signed. It's one thing to have a deal like Mika where we feel it's the right move at the time, even if it comes back to bite us. You could see the writing on the wall from day one with Kreider.

I like Kravtsov as much as the next guy, his size and skill are certainly tantalizing, but I think your way out on a limb on how good he’s been/can be. There have been glimpses where he looks great, and other times not so much.
This is also a kid that flat out abandoned the Organization that chose him in the top 10 over a lot of draft boards that had him lower.
I hope he gets his head on straight and gets a solid top 9 opportunity at some point before he throws a fit and wants a fresh start elsewhere.
The writing is on the wall for Gauthier here. He’s not part of the long term plans, but after a good showing in the preseason, I can see why they want to try and get some value for him.
I knew Blais wasn’t going to be a 4th liner here. He has too much/grit skill. If kakko doesn’t work with panarin and strome, expect to see Blais inserted there as well.
Atm, kravtsov and Barron, and well as Gauthier are victims of the numbers game it seems. Good enough to play top 9 now, but a gallant doesn’t want them playing 4th line minutes or sitting in the press box

They're going to have to ditch one of the waiver eligible guys or send Nils down then. They're carrying 23 players with Kravtsov and Barron in Hartford.

Yeah I suspect they want another couple days to work the phones before trying to send one of the waiver eligible guys down.

It's distinctly possible that Drury has a couple of interested teams that said something along the lines of 'We are interested, here is the deal in principle, but we want to wait to see if there are any surprises in terms of who is waived and sent down or released from PTO's before making a move'

I have no inside information, but I'd be shocked if Kravtsov is anything but a paper move or to get a few easier games in post-injury. VK and Barron are the only forwards who don't have to pass through waivers. And there's no way the team is going to keep Hajek around for very long as an 8th D. If he's going to have any sort of career, he needs to play and keep growing his game. He cannot do that as an 8th D. He either needs to go down or he needs to be moved or waived.

That said, if VK or Laff or any of our young guys aren't playing top 9 I'd rather him play in HFD. The only way I let a kid play 4th line minutes is if he is on special teams. Just not enough minutes otherwise.

But in the end, I think VK won't be in the A really. I think the org made him a promise. I think this is a paper move. If not, VK will be traded.

When? The first game where he got the most 3 star votes on the team? Go back and read the GDT. Or the second game where he played one period then got injured? Kravtsov far outplayed Gauthier. All Gauthier does is go on rushes where he skates really fast and loses the puck. Same as he always has.
hmmmmm......

AINEC?????? (this is karma)

perhaps the attention isnt worth it....but I'm thinking you will continue on your quest.....
