Speculation: Roster Building Thread - Part XXVI

This is possible, although Kravtsov just played in the Islander game and that was pretty physical. Do we think the Cap game will be MORE physical? I'm doubtful

Also, still have too many guys on the roster and with Strome and Reaves clearly healthy something has to give.

PLD will be two years away from group III. Is the player interested in signing in Winnipeg long term? He had a tough adjustment in Winnipeg last season. When he was traded to Winnipeg last season, I remember listening to a podcast and it didn't seem Winnipeg was a top destination on his list. 31 Thoughts? He had no say in the matter. I know his father is an assistant coach with the Manitoba Moose. His father won't be coaching there for eternity. If Dubois doesn't want to commit to Winnipeg long-term, they have to move him at some point.

Dubois has played with Panarin. He has played with Russian players in junior. He talked about that in the podcast. PLD would be the perfect player for the Rangers. The Rangers missed the opportunity to land ROR in 2013. If Dubois becomes available, the Rangers should be in the front of the line.

If Chytil becomes the Rangers #2 center and he becomes the all around two way player, then the conversation ends.

Hunt isn't really a goon, he just plays a hard-nosed North/South game and he's been effective offensively in camp. I've said this before but if management's goal was to build an identity 4th line, Hunt-Rooney-Reaves would be it. Blais clearly has more skill to his game to be a 4th liner.

I wonder if Caps even play Ovie. If he's not 100%, probably wouldn't be wise of them.

I think the most heated rivalry in hockey right now in the season opener is going to be more physical than a preseason game, yes lol. Keep in mind when we played the Caps last, remember how much of a bloodbath that was? We were missing our most physical players Kreider, Trouba,etc And I'm sure they are angry at what Washington did to their teammates too. I think it will be a very rough game

I think Hunt & Rooney get sent down, maybe Gauthier. Highly doubt Kravtsov. Gauthier does what he always does, same old player who goes on rushes and doesn't score.

I'm looking forward to Thursday's game so much more than Wednesday. Seeing those beautiful Dallas greens... what a breath of fresh air after the same f***ing teams over and over and over

Pretty sure every other team he's coached has named a captain, and he led off the pre-season saying it was very important to have a captain. This is some impressive spin by him.

I legit think the players all know its going to someone like laf, and dont want any hard feelings when he's ready to take it. They then left it to gallant to spin it.
 
Lol how many times did Drury confirm that for sure there would be a captain this season? I’m glad he’s giving Gallant the final say but it’s just odd.

The most heated/best rivalry in hockey right now is TB/FLA, believe it or not. I feel like they are still “new teams” I’m old.

He did not name a captain during any of his 213 games as head coach of Vegas
