Austin Texas might be a good spot... otherwise I didn’t hate the Portland idea.

Quebec or Hamilton might be fun but both would be real long shots id think...

Not trying to pile on Buffalo here, but as someone born in raised in upstate, spent his whole life traveling NY/Northeast for hockey for my older brother and I... I've seen enough of the place.... what would Buffalo be without wings? I mean seriously, I went there for the World Juniors one year as an adult to party and let loose.. there's nothing to do. It's a) find bars and b) places to eat wings, and World Junior hockey that weekend.

I'm not trying to make anyone from Buffalo feel bad but outside of having good wing spots, and the Bills, it's a glorified college town. Rochester isn't Buffalo, Amherst isn't Buffalo, Niagra Falls isn't Buffalo. I can see after a few years of living there being like "ok this was cool but I gotta get out". I understand that logic completely... kind of another reason Jack seems like an asshole here to me, the hockey has been bad and it's a meh place to live, no one put a gun to your head to sign that contract.

Buffalo is a welfare state, shocked to know they’ve at least gotten the wings right, good on them

I agree with you. 1PP is the key. He’ll def get 40 pts playing on their even in a 3rd line role. 40 might be a stretch from 3rd line if he wasn’t on the PP but Kreids is very solid in front of the net and will go on his scoring streaks like always.

Chytil was pacing 40+ on 3rd line with minimal PP TOI.

See no reason the two together couldn't reach those numbers

We sure it's a foregone conclusion CK is going to start on the 3rd line anyway?

Not sure, but it make more sense than Lafreniere starting there.

Alexis is the future of this club.

Old players get older, young players get better.

It would be an all time blunder not to put Alexis in a position to succeed in what he's best at.

Of course. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if someone OTHER than CK starts the year on the 3rd line, as some sort of vet thing Gallant might pull.

Hank retiring makes me a sad Panda. So, technically can we say he played his whole career as a Ranger? Probably not since he signed with Washington but never played.

Initially, the problem would be TOI for them, because as it stands, that would start as a 3rd line, and get 3rd line minutes.

I was thinking more like having a 2A & 2b line where that line would eventually be solidified as the second line. If these kids take steps this team is going to be very hard to win against.

If a kid line somehow muscles their way into a 2A/2B situation, then that would be extremely positive and probably best case for this year.
