I 100% agree that he is captain country club.I don't like to opine on players' fitness bc I see regularly on here that Chris "Jumps out of pools" Kreider is the head of the "country club"

and what about the previous seasons? What about Mika? What about Trouba?the "Fox shoulda trained harder this offseason" crowd forgetting he had to let his knee injury heal and he only had like 3 months
there's another one. One of the best players in the world but still training like he's barely able to stay in the league.Maybe he's a Nathan MacKinnon guy.
Kreider is about to be 34. He's pushing that window further with him being in shape. These type of seasons will creep in though where he's just dealing with nagging injuries. Fox at 34 will be a pylon if he doesn't change things upI don't like to opine on players' fitness bc I see regularly on here that Chris "Jumps out of pools" Kreider is the head of the "country club"

these guys stagnate or decline physically. There's no improvement. At this point, if I were the org ( I'm not ) , I'd put it in every big contract handed out... Mandatory set training in the offseason.
Pretty sure Buffalo says no thank you but Rasmus Dahlin?Show your work if you want to trade him. What's a fair deal you'd make?
his physical limitations are valid criticisms. I would not trade Fox nor have I ever thought of it. I'm just saying he needs to be improving physically.what about the previous seasons? when Fox was an elite top 5 or better in the NHL defenseman?
idk about Mika and Trouba but they're both 6 years older than Fox and neither of them had a strained MCL so that's a completely different set of circumstances.

Yes, he had knee issues and that has hurt him this season. His edge work is not there and he's lost a slight step which he couldn't afford to lose. What I'm saying is to hopefully see physical improvements next season
You may very well find 20-30 defensemen with a higher positive defensive rating than Fox (you might not, but assuming you can), isn't it significant that Fox has a positive defensive rating at all when he has played 91% of his 5v5 minutes with two players with extremely negative defensive ratings?
That's the nutty thing about the anti trading Fox on a message board - he's a guy you can realistically choose your adventure on. Magic beans, young NHL talent, all stars, culture/fit guys, you can realistically reshape the team in 10 ways. I wish people would have fun with it a bit.Show your work if you want to trade him. I agree with you about health. Good health is so important to a NHL player. It literally sucks knowing that you are a better player but an injury has hampered your game. With that said I do not have any untouchable Rangers. Id listen to all deals (including Shesty and Laf) and then decide.i think we need to give him a chance to have a normal offseason and start the year 100% healthy before we try to fix what isn't broken
it absolutely doesnt start with that lolStarts with Kreider and Perreault. Nothing I'm ok with giving up.

The standard deal for a player like him would be a young projectable guy at his position who plays now, roster player who fills a need, A prospect, and another piece. So just to make something up on the spot, Faber, Rossi, ZEEV, and fill in the blank (older roster player in this case) from Minnesota for Fox and Trochek. But really it's anything you want.
Anti Fox Mafia is funny as it's a very small minority that the majority is having a very outsized, prolonged reaction to something they should laugh at and ignore.I want to keep him lol. Guerin isnt trading Mr. Minnesota Hockey for Adam Fox when he just outplayed him at the Four Nations tournament, (that the leader of the Anti-Fox mafia is using as justification for Trading Fox btw). You dont trade your best defenseman because he isnt perfect. As @Bob Richards said, trading Fox now is akin to trading Leetch after the 92-93 season. It's not a trade the rangers will win
I know I'm in the minority but I'd shop Gabe for 'that guy'.
Brady Tkachuk is the first one that comes to mind. I couldn't think of a 1LD off the top of my head... maybe Owen Power? dont know. Any 1C that's not soft.
I'm far to sedentary to have an opinion on pro athletes being in shape or not.I don't like to opine on players' fitness bc I see regularly on here that Chris "Jumps out of pools" Kreider is the head of the "country club"
Schneider Othmann and Smith for Byram and McLeod? probably not enough, maybe get a third team in there that wants Smith and to send picks to Buffalo

Hit dog will holler and all that....
I think it is enough, probably without Smith.
Otthman and Schneider are physical and Buffalo doesn’t have any of that, especially oj the wings. Byram is LHD but RFA while Dahlin and Power are both signed 7+ years. McLeod is also RFA.
I think people forget how young Byram is too. He’ll be 23 until after this season is over. Same draft as Schneider, but 4OA. He’s a full 1.5 years younger than KAM, who people worry if we move him he’ll blossom.
He’s won a Cup (really good that post season too) and this year looks like he’s turning the corner on the injury bug. 27th in scoring for D (with 27 EV points, Fox has 30, in 2 more games) and a +11 on an awful team (Fox is +5). Not the biggest guy, but skates well, has some physicality, 6’1 205, still tons of upside as a 23 year old D man. I think that’s the buy low LH candidate. Some risk with injury history but that’s a potential home run if he keeps staying healthy.
