It's not hate. We discuss every little thing about every player. However, if you mention Adam Fox, then it's hate. Every player is fair game except for Fox?

Dan Rosen and Vince made those comments about Fox. All of them are true. Other American D have surpassed Fox on the U.S. depth chart. Did you watch the games? There are other American D coming along for next year. Fox seems to have trouble when the games become fast and physical. It's been true the last two playoff appearances. Fox looked like a fish out of water in the 4 Nations. He does look slower. Who is this ideal mythical partner for Fox? He needs to be big and physical. He needs to be able to skate well. He needs to be a good defender too. Fox is not one of top 3 D in the league.

You Fox people are not being objective. If Fox played for the Devils, nearly everyone on this board would point out every flaw. Fox plays for the Rangers and some of us should bury our heads in the sand pretending everything is fine.

Pat Flatley.

Dan Rosen and Vince Mercogliano haven't had an original thought enter their head in their writing careers. All their talking points are pulled from social media(or HF in Vince's case.)

Fox's size and lack of speed gets exposed when he has a partner that cant play offense or defense. Fox himself is having a bad year but he will bounce back.. How are we replacing his 70 points a year, and 24 minutes a night? I point out Jack Hughes many flaws all the time, and he was also awful in 4 nations. Doesnt mean the Devils should trade him.

And spare me on the injury shit. McDonagh wasn't a big guy with the Rangers either, and after the injuries were allowed to heal he's won two Cups playing a key role for Tampa. He's still a good player at 35. if that's the trajectory Fox is on, I'll gladly take it.

....and he was huge and strong . Maybe they can fix it better these days....One would have to think if he finds a donated shoulder that is much bigger he would need a matching one ? He could be out for a year just learning how to use the new found mega shoulders ! :D He would be like a robo-defender of sorts for us .
I know its 2025 but did I miss these megashoulder replacement surgeries? ☺️

I could buy trading Fox if they didn’t have some of the worst organizational depth at defense in the league.

Nothing against Emery and Foretescue, but the next time Emery scores a goal will be his first since he played under 17 hockey.

And if Fox is this slow injured player who now stinks why is an NHL team giving us a haul?
bold = temporary, make deal now get ahead of the curve, not stay behind
also it's now or never due to pending nmc

as to why we get a haul, risk-reward

Maybe kreider would have been traded like he should have been.
sounds like someone ungrateful for all ck did prior to this yr
and also wrongfully evaluating his current health status

I honestly want to trade Mika less and less by the day. I feel like there’s a redemption arc there. Lowkey I think Panarin is the one they should trade
sorry no
the selfish, willful, arrogant, intentional bail by Zib has to be called out and paid for, not only to punish him, but send a message

also -- still not playing def, remains contact averse -- PAY ATTENTION

Off topic to the current conversation, but if I'm running the team, I'm backing up a Brinks truck into Vlad Gavrikov's driveway at 12pm July 1st.
a serious competitive offer pushing top bid yes
paying too much for too long, no
although this may be mitigated vs if we sign for 7 yrs and can flip him beg. around yr 4 or 5

Libor H looked like an All Star for 4 I SAID FOUR games, then injured his shoulder, was never the same.

Being critical is fine. You comes across as obsessive and a bit weird. There are a bunch of others who criticize him without being going to this extreme. You do you though.
careful
there are many similarities in the bottom line posts of @RangerBoy and yours truly but let's not blur the line too much

also, let's not confuse RB w/Ross Perot...

Everything stated about McDonagh and his health and success post NYR is true, but I just want to point out he was called MacTruck for a reason. Fox would be SmartCar by comparison. 3”, 40lbs and about 500 horse power more than Fox. McDonagh at 35 is also still probably faster than Fox ever was.

Ekblad, Gavrikov, and Maata are good. Stay away from everyone else. And Ekblad likely resigns.

Ekblad interests me slightly in the summer if Drury wants to get aggressive with a Schneider trade. He does tend to get injured but he's big physical and kinda dirty in front of the net, which we need more of. Could take on the PK minutes we dont want Fox playing long term. Wouldnt solve the LD issue though.

McDonagh has also only ever cracked 40 points once. i think people are understating Fox's production and it's important to the Rangers. Fox's averages 30 even strength points a year. Even this year before the injury he was on a 66 point pace instead of his usual 70+. To handwave this production because he "can't skate" like some are saying is laughable.

Fox is 5th in scoring among D in "a down year".

Even if he were the player so many have convinced themselves he is and couldn't defend for shit, what're we left with? Evan Bouchard? He's outscoring him.

The Fox 'discourse' is completely unserious. I've yet to see a take that isnt "small and slow". Say no more when it comes to an understanding about what you're watching. Depth of the takes is equivalent to a kindergartner's hockey IQ.

Eh, he’s broken 40 points 3 times and averages close to 30 even strength points a year himself. A few years ago he had 43 even strength points. Skating is a big part of the game. It deteriorates with age for 99% of players. If you start out poor, it’s more likely to impact the longevity of your success. If you’re a giant you may be able to get by even as you slow down, alla “Jumbo” Joe. Small AND slow are not a good combination. The perception around Fox has indeed changed around the league. It’s absolutely true that if Adam Fox played for any other team in the league he would be mercilessly roasted by the same posters who defend him here. I can literally hear the posters who say Makar can’t defend to save his life FLAYING Fox alive, especially if he had forced his way to a different team in the manner he forced himself to ours. The amount of times he would be called an overrated, soft, defensively weak player would triple the number of times it’s been said about Makar or Hughes if he were on a rival team.

But also this version is Fox is still better than McDonagh ever was.

You know that's not true for me and many others with a similar perspective, because his cards would say the same thing.

That's why you sign both Gavrikov and Maata.
