Lindholm intrigues me. Real good player, versatile, good contract. Someone I’ve always liked a lot. I’m not sure why Calgary would want to trade him...

Unless it would be to fill another big hole.

That big hole could be an offensive minded right hand defenseman. Andersson is a defensive rock, Brodie seems to have worn out his welcome in Calgary and that’s it on the right side. DeAngelo for Lindholm would be a value for value trade. It would also mean the Rangers could use some of their other assets to trade for a left side defenseman that would need expansion protection.

It’s just that the conversation completely ran it’s course without your participation, but then pages later you latch on to the first post, ignoring the rest.

Its a free country, but if you’re going to dredge up old posts, at least scroll down a little bit and make sure you aren’t just being a broken record?

You’ve managed to hang on to this all day, and the original conversation was less than a half hour. No one’s been talking about it since this morning except for you.
Considering l’m working 50+ hours a week, sometimes I have to catch up in the threads like I did today. It’s not intentional.

Hi guys...I guess some of you still remember me ;)

Some NYR fans on twitter think it could be a good idea to make a trade with the Wild to bring Zuccarello back, if the Wild retain at least 30%. It kind of makes sense, because he could be useful as a mentor for all the young players on your team.

So what do you think, is there a way to bring Zucc home?
LOL no.

He seems to think it would likely be Larsson or Klefbom.
Okay but that is as if Dreger reported that Toronto wanted to move their glut of forwards for defensive help and then said that they are looking to move Hyman and Johnsson

I'd love for Zucc to retire in New York, but no, we have a glut at wing and Zucc's expensive even at 30%.

No interest. Will love Zucc forever, but there's simply no room for him.

Did Zuccarello find a 1st round pick to put in his suitcase to bring with him?

Whisky!!

But no, there is just no fit.

Loved Zucc, but it's done.

While keeping in mind our best chance to win may be within 2 years.

Laf, Kakko, Shesty on ELCs. Z on cheap deal. Panarin in his prime

Look at the trouble the Leafs are having with their depth now that they paid everyone.

Have to take advantage of these years.
IDK I think everyone is looking way too far ahead. The Rangers are a deeper team than the Leafs. And if the Rangers actually perform in the playoffs then no one will complain about contracts and ELCs. Let's just worry about developing all the kids.

Doesn’t seem like enough for DeAngelo to me.

Nope that ships sailed and this is coming from a guy who named his turtles zook

Yeah it's a lot of money, I can understand that. He will always remain a Ranger though.

Either way its irrelevant because buch doesn't need to put on muscle. He needs to work on his foot speed. I'd like him to shed about 3 pounds of muscle so it can enable him to increase his stamina and increase his foot speed.
LOL if he sheds 3 lbs of muscle he will get slower. The stronger/leaner you are the more stamina and foot speed you will have. It's either muscle or fat...and fat sure as hell doesn't improve stamina or speed.

Ive brought up Antoine Roussel as an option from Vancouver. He has a couple of years left and Vancouver will probably be looking to shed cap. Perhaps they would retain a bit but he’d be ideal for the opposite wing from Lemieux
Ehh I think I’m over Roussell. I loved him 3-4 years ago because I felt those Rangers teams after the 2015 run were just too soft on the back end of their forward lines.

I think you can get a similar effect out of Clifford for less money.

Prime Zibanejad and Panarin doesn't leave that much time. It's time to go.

It’s why you have to keep an eye towards the future. Why it makes sense to trade a little more present for a little more future, still. Ie if you could get Lundell for Buch and the Carolina pick, for example.

Can’t assume this team is necessarily gonna be ready to win it all with these guys in their prime. You hope that they can be elder statesmen at age 33-34 or so and still be affordable, but really when Kakko and Lafreniere are 24-25 is when I see our best chance. Fox will be 27, Miller 26, DeAngelo 29, Chytil will be 26, Trouba will be 31, etc.

Seems to me much better chance than hoping Panarin and Mika carry us to a Cup while the kids are so young. I foresee them being the older vets helping us win later, a la Gaborik with the Kings.

10 realistic moves for a Center:

Anthony Cirelli (trade)
Nick Bonino (trade)
Jack Roslovic (trade)
Tyson Jost (trade)
Sam Bennett (trade)
Mikael Granlund (free agent)
Erik Haula (free agent)
Carl Soderberg (free agent)
Mikko Koivu (free agent)
Jason Spezza (free agent)

No. His home is Minnesota now. We have zero interest. Loved Zucc during his time here, but he is not a young kid anymore. He just doesnt have that same youthful energy he always brought to the rink. Its no knock on him, it just comes with getting older. That youthful energy is what elevated his game into another gear at times. He just doesnt look like the same player and I want no part of that money, even with a % retained.
