Kings are taking Stutzle.
Do you really think they'll pass on a guy with that size, height, and weight and a potential heir to Kopitar for a smallish winger?

Size, height and weight? Talk about a triple-threat!Do you really think they'll pass on a guy with that size, height, and weight and a potential heir to Kopitar for a smallish winger?
I have to tell you, Stutzle is on more than view lists as the second best prospect.
The kid is electric, and quite possibly could catch, or come close to catching Lafreniere some day if all the pieces come together.
The idea of him going second is a very real possibility.
-Shrug- Joe Sakic was 31 when he won his first cup with the Avs. The whole 01-02 wings team was 30+. Malkin and Crosby are still going strong at 33 and 34.
We don't know, but not every player declines like Brad Richards or Marc Staal.
Also, Zibby and Panarin can be 'still great' with their very best behind them and still be a valuable contributor duo to the squad as Kakko, Laf, and others are in their primes. You imagine in five years you have a core ranging in ages from 23 all the way to 32. That's solid.

How would you compare Lafreniere and Stutzle now?
Interesting. If Ottawa came calling and offered you 3, 5 and Tkachuk for #1, what would you say?
Great. That'll only add fuel to the "trade down for Byfield" fire, whether it's legitimate or not.
It isn't.
If that happens, I’d be very tempted to take 3+5 from Ottawa for LafreniereKings are taking Stutzle.
Won't stop people from crowing about it for the next two months
This is true lol.

That would be very tempting. A lot more tempting than maybe some realize or think.
Put me on the spot, and I'd decline. I just think you can't be the guy who passes on Lefreniere.
Having said that, the number two spot this year is the complete opposite of last year.
When the Rangers picked second, it was the easiest slot in the draft. You took one of Hughes or Kakko.
This year, it's probably the hardest spot in the draft. Because you can make a very good argument that Stutzle is the second best player and the most likely to come close to what Lefreniere is capable of doing.
Im thinking long and hard about that offer, if and only if I know Kings are taking Stutzle though.Interesting. If Ottawa came calling and offered you 3, 5 and Tkachuk for #1, what would you say?
Byfield is a huge specimenSize, height and weight? Talk about a triple-threat!
No, it's a bad idea. Living in the past is never a good idea. The team needs to keep moving forward.Hi guys...I guess some of you still remember me
Some NYR fans on twitter think it could be a good idea to make a trade with the Wild to bring Zuccarello back, if the Wild retain at least 30%. It kind of makes sense, because he could be useful as a mentor for all the young players on your team.
So what do you think, is there a way to bring Zucc home?
A sens unprotected 1st in 2021 added to that, that's a godfather offer right there. Even if it was the right to swap picks.I get it...particularly when the Rangers have never had the opportunity to make this selection before. That said, what else would you want to get you to say yes? An unprotected 1st in 2021?

So if our 2nd pick is in the low 20s, what are some options there

No, because I just don't trust the ability to scout and get as good of a read on the 2021 class at this time.
The challenge with Ottawa is the gap between their really intriguing talent and a bunch of prospects/players who don't move me too much.
